Flying
I once dreamed I was flying,
In a circle round and round.
Wasn't going anywhere,
Because there was nowhere to be found.
The world had collapsed,
And had completely shrunken down.
I once dreamed I was flying.
I once dreamed I was swimming,
And I couldn't come up for air.
Surrounded by a pressure,
That could have been despair.
Couldn't tell top from bottom,
And maybe I didn't care.
I once dreamed I was swimming.
I once dreamed I was living,
In a life better than my own.
Smiling with a lover,
With a happiness that's unknown.
And still I felt trapped,
Because it wasn't something I condoned.
I once dreamed I was living.
I once dreamed I was dying,
Still I'm not sure why.
Like I had fallen to the ground,
From way up in the sky.
Saw a new part of the world,
That never existed otherwise.
I once dreamed I was dying.
I once dreamed I was flying.
