Escape to a time gone by.

The air is crisp, the night calm,

from afar an owl hoots greetings,

and the dog pack growls its response.

The full moon illuminates the land,

my whole being filled with anticipation

as I take in the open space around me.

Far from the constant city sounds,

protected by trees surrounding me,

laying on the ground,

my body tingling feeling cradled

hearing Mother Earth's heartbeat.

Rusty gates creak with age,

a huge door resisting my intrusion

as I enter a time gone by,

standing by the window,

dreaming of a haunted house

oblivious to the silhouette flying across the moon.
