Sitting Down Here
Nothing to do but read
"Oh. ."
"What?!"
"Didn't you hear? Duncan is, like, back on the market!"
"Really? But I thought he's into that girl she's been dating for months now?"
"I know. They're so cute together, but Duncan is really mine."
"Don't be such a snob."
"Whatever. Come on. Let's hunt him!" And they left the bathroom, giggling.
Hearing those girls throwing themselves at Duncan make my heart ache all over again.
"Bailey?" I heard Daisy say.
"In here." After a few sniffles, I straighten myself out and went out of the stall.
After looking at my state, Daisy clicked her tongue. "Honey, hiding in the bathroom so you can't see him inn the cafeteria or hallway won't let you get that hearthbreak you're feeling." She said , comfortly. "Come on. Lets go to the mall. I'll buy you a strawberry thickshake so it'll cheer you up. Great plan, eh?"
"Yes." I agreed.
As the weeks go by, I consumed my time in the library working my lazyass off some homework and projects. Which means I don't have any time moping and weeping about him.
"Bailey?" a guy asked. "Do I know you?" I asked.
"Yes. I sit in front of your seat in Eng. Lit. " he replied.
"Ah. So, what do you want?"
"Will you go out with me?"
"No."
"No? Well, maybe tomo—"
"I'm sorry, but I'm really in no state in dating."
"I see. Well, If you change my mind, I'm here. Have a good day."
"B, one day, these boys will hunt you down. You all bruised their egos by turning them down. That's like the 13th guy you shot down this week. And let me tell you, he's HOTT !"
"I'm just not in the mood."
"Not in the mood? Those boys who asked you consist of some football players and the soccer players. They're basically the most sought men in the school."
"Oh. Well, come on. We're gonna be late."
I was sitting in the park, under a tree which just so happen to be our favorite spot, reminiscing the moments I shared with him when the said subject materialized out of nowhere.
"Bailey" he greeted.
"Duncan. What are you doing here?" my voice shaky.
"I came to talk to you."
"You're talking to me" I pointed out.
"These past few weeks has been hell to me. The thing is, I love you. There. The only reason why I broke up with you is to make sure what I'm feeling for you is real. Could you give me another chance? " He asked, nervous.
Next thing I know, I kissed him on the lips.
"Does this mean you're giving us another chance?" he asked in a low voice.
"Of course. I love you, too" I whispered.
