Vanilla Mochi
by Poisoned Twinkles
(A/N: Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape - Wikipedia.)
fingers holding dessert:
yes, i once had this mochi ball
with which i tried to
put a maraschino cherry on top
(glazed red, pop it in your mouth?)
but it just slipped down quite lusciously
so i tried something else; i added a rainbow
i sprinkled my hopes
my dreams
but the sprinkles fell messy
cascade of colours disarrayed
nothing worked
therefore, i just bit the mochi ball
(solemnly, in fact)
and to my great surprise,
vanilla ice cream was inside
no, it didn't taste like
syrup of peptic caramel
it didn't taste any sweeter
than normal gelato
or a sundae of creamy wishes
but it was definitely more unique.
