A Foreign Womb
March 29, 2011

Twins - boy and girl

Born a minute apart

She wasn't ready, not now, - she thought

For yet another two

So she entrusted them to a couple

Who's been trying for their own

For more than a decade yet there's not one

Whom they could call child

I can see you struggled inside

For your face wore your heart

In the end your babies would go

In the bosom of a mother

Of a foreign womb

Two newborns, innocent and asleep

Oblivious one stalemate broke

Should they wonder why, oh, why

Your gut promised it was going to be alright

Perhaps I'm an enstranged audience

But, Samantha, dear, I can't help but wonder

Why are you crying, still?
