with that smile on your lips,
that gleam in your eye.
If only I could suppress myself,
the yawn that humanity brings,
have more than the confines
of where I reside in my head.
Like you do.
If only I could go way beyond
what they think about forever,
their theories of emotions
and philosophies of nature.
Like you do.
If only I could brace myself,
as a pessimist, as a realist,
for the outside world
and the mediocrity of it all.
Like you do.
And overcome the weakness
that keeps me in my thoughts,
to go above and beyond
society's ignorant views,
