The Time Keeper

Time waits for no one

Not for you, nor me.

I thought staying still

would save my minutes;

could preserve my life.

In my mind I stopped -

paused under such pressure

to make decisions -

ones we must discern.

Avoiding mistakes

was survival mode:

a keen perception,

yet odd deception.

Years flew by falsely.

Memories undone

Pictures mistaken

Loving forsaken

Dreams undeveloped

Goals underrated

Phrases unexpressed

Promises unsaid

Wisdom remembered

by beating cancer

Renders me speechless.
