The Day We Danced

My love, my life.

I can still recall

The day you took away my strife.

It was in the fall.

I had come to the ball,

And by happenstance,

You were there.

"Would you care to dance?"

You did, and your every step was light as air.

You danced, you twirled

With astounding grace,

The most beautiful thing in the world,

Beyond the description of a thousand words and more.

I knew then that this place

Was the one where my true love was,

I knew it for sure.

I was glad I took the chance

Because I met you, because

I fell in love the day we danced.
