Things happen for a reason, that was something that Aros came to realize. It all started when he saw how James kept distancing himself from him each day, Elizabeth had managed to persuade Aros to start taking therapy, using the children as motivation. The first session had been difficult, he hadn't been able to speak, as was the second but by the third he was already relaxing.

The doctor was rather nice, she had piercing eyes that seem to look through his soul with silver hair and tan skin, looking to be about forty or fifty, always dressed in warm color and a voice that sounded almost smoky.

"What is on your mind today, Aros?" She asked him on his 10th day, he had started to talk a bit about the family and his children, they were finally getting into a point of no return.

"The monster...he tried to get me last night as well, he tainted me forever." Was the gentle reply, pale pink orbs staring down at the floor. He was dressed in a pale yellow sweater which was a bit too big for him with loose, dark grey jeans and converse, his hair tied up, if someone were to meet him now, they would think he was nothing but a small child.

"How do you think he tainted you?" Dr. Johnson asked, keeping a steady gaze on him, a small notebook on her lap with a black pen, she had assured him it was to remind herself of some things and that if he wanted to, he could look at it anytime.

"His touches tainted me...they made it so that everyone knows that I am dirty now...that is why they can't love me." Thoughts of James hit him once more, having to live in that house while being reminded daily of what he lost was difficult, it was more painful than those unwanted touches.

"Who are 'they' Aros?" Her voice grew slightly more gentle, feeling that they were really getting close to a breakthrough, this was more than he has said in the past week.

"My family...maybe they are not my family." After that he went quiet for the rest of their meeting, but it had been something. He bid Dr. Johnson a good day then went out of the house, it had a small garden which was the side that the patients were suppose to walk out. Elizabeth was waiting by the car patiently, smiling when she saw him.

"Hello, Aros, are you enjoying your sessions with Dr. Johnson?" She asked, moving to brush his hair back then kiss his cheek.

He gave a small nod, glancing down "Thank you." For a lot of things, he felt more at ease after their talk, it left him thinking about some things, an important choice he felt that he needed to make, not just for himself but for everyone else. James was not his anymore, what was the point in reaching out for a hand that will never hold his again?

His therapy kept going well, within a month his suicidal tendency had gone drastically down, he gave hints of smile and seemed more at peace with himself, there was still days when he refuse to get out of bed or talk to anyone, Dr. Johnson had warned him that getting better wouldn't be easy, that it would take patience and times but that if he kept trying, things would get better. She suggested for him to keep a diary to write whenever he wanted to let out something that felt too private, it would take time for him to find a therapy of his own, some people chose writing, others art, it all depended on the person, at least that was what his therapist had assured him.

Sometimes he would still see Kain staring back at him with those lifeless eyes, feel those touches but it grew slightly more easy, he would let Jane drag him places, from movies to libraries, it was how he discovered his love for knitting, they had been giving a free beginner class at their favorite library, Jane had persuaded him to join with her, saying something about wanting to make the babies something cute.

"Wow Ro, you are so amazing! I am still in my second stitch yet you are so far." Jane stared at the way skinny, long fingers moved with two wooden needles, the yarn was a vibrant green color, he was in the process of making a scarf, the first thing taught.

A bright blush appeared on his pale cheek at the compliment, smiling shyly "Thank you." He whispered, some ladies began to look at him and what he was doing, everyone cooing at the great job.

Between therapy and knitting classes, Aros seem to transform, he was still extremely timid and didn't really like to be around people but he felt at peace when he knitted, his problems melting away, it also became easier to talk to Dr. Johnson, their biggest breakthrough had been a night when he had really felt like he would lose it.

Kain's voice was loud, telling him how much of a worthless filth, it had been right after James had announced that he would go live with Sasha, who apparently was still rather weak and needed someone to help take care of him. James had barely glanced at Aros, apparently rather intend on avoiding him as much as possible.

"I just came to get my clothes, Sasha is waiting at home...the doctors said it would take a while for him to recover and that it is a miracle that he's even alive." Sasha needed to learn how to walk and talk again, there was a chance that he wouldn't be able to do either.

"James, you jerk!" Jane snapped, glaring at her older brother and storming off, dragging Aros with her, what was left behind was confused look between James and his parents.

"I have to do this mom...you should have seen the way he looked at me when he woke up, it was my fault that he even became that sick, please tell me you understand mother….please." James gave a pleading look, biting his bottom lip.

Elizabeth remained quiet then nodded "But are you sure you won't regret this, James?" Those were words he would remember for many years after, if only he had known what would happen.

That night Aros listened to James packing, he listened to the sound of the door leaving and when the voice came, he almost listened to it, somehow he found himself grabbing the phone and quickly dialing Dr. Johnson's number, hand shaking.

"Hello… Johnson residence." A sleepy, smoky voice answered, a yawn escaping, he almost hung up but forced himself to speak.

"D-Dr Johnson...the monster is back to get me." He managed to choke out, trying not to stare at Kain.

"...Aros?" Then she seem to wake up "Shhh, its alright, tell me what is going on. Do you want us to meet right now?" She sounded more alert yet still calm, all traces of sleep disappearing.

"James left and the monster came back...what should I do? I don't want it to take my babies." Aros whispered, biting his bottom lip to keep himself from crying, he looked at the crib with the peacefully sleeping babies and the monster.

"I promise he won't take your babies Aros, now I want you to please take a few deep breath and tell me everything, we can stay up together for as long as you want." Her voice was soothing, it was starting to slowly calm him down.

After spending over an hour simply talking to her, his mind seem to clear up, it also helped him make his choice. After thanking her, he hung up, letting out a soft sigh…people grew up, it was simply how things worked and now it was time for him to grow up, he couldn't depend on this family forever.

It took a whole week for him to set his plan in motion, he had a bit of money saved up thanks to his mother, it was the money he had planned on using for what he had decided to do.

Silence had met him just like he knew it would, everyone was either working or doing something else, the most important part was that he was home alone with the children. He had packed up his things, fitting it into a luggage which included the children clothes, each letter was put in place, with a soft sigh he looked at the home which had helped him grow, with a deep bow he thanked them all then grabbed the baby cart and walked away, hearing the final click of his past.

He took the bus toward the bus terminal, paying for a one way ticket then sighed, eyes closing. Yes, this was for the best, Aros knew that if he had stayed he would have gone back to his old self and he simply could not risk that...not after working so hard. He would find a place to stay for a bit, contact his therapist and live his new life, away from James and the demons that haunted him.

"Sometimes I wondered if you ever loved me, my beloved, I hope you find a person that can save you." He sang softly, thinking of James playing the piano, of the memories linked to his family, because no matter where he went, they would always be an important part of him.

-The End-

A.N:Hello everyone, it has been a long time since I updated this and I apologize. I was going through a rough patch in life and honestly found it hard to write. Originally I thought this would be 20 chapter in total but after thinking it over it felt right to end it here, a lot of things will be explained in the sequel which I will start to write today, I already know who it will be about and the major plot of it.

Perhaps you guys noticed or not, but my style of writing has changed up a bit, as I've said a few times, English is not my native tongue, its Spanish, there are still a lot of words and grammar rules that I don't understand or that I get confuse. I was re-reading the story and felt quite appalled when I noticed just how terrible my writing was, I will try to re-update each chapter, slowly, with the correction, I make no promises that my writing will be perfect but I would like to think it will be better.

Thanks to everyone who has stayed by this story side and supported me, it means a lot to know that after so long many of you didn't give up on it. The first chapter of the sequel will be updated either today or tomorrow depending on the time I get back from school, I really do hope that at least some of you like it, writing this story, I kept trying to think of how this would occur realistically, as a future Psychiatrist I tried to think from the point of view of a real victim of abuse and how life works, sadly things aren't always a happy ending, people are not always who they seem, that is not to say that James is a bad guy, more about him will be explained in the sequel, what happened to Sasha as well.

I will now shut up before this turns longer, thank you again for everything guys, please let me know what you think, even if it is that you are unhappy with this current ending, let me know why or how I could have done better.
