Prologue
A howl echoed in the distance. A pale gray wolf with a black tabby pattern pelt looked up to the sky. That could have been me. He thought sadly. A couple of his stripes looked like lightning, which gave him his name- Lightning.
A pale yellow light appeared behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see the door to a large mansion opened with a little old maid standing in the door way.
"Lightning!" she shouted, "Lighting where are you? It's time for dinner!" Lightning sighed and padded towards the door. The starry sky seemed to turn his pelt into a star itself. His glowing yellow eyes were fixed intently on the forest that lay beyond the walls of the mansion.
If only I could get out of here. Then I would be truly happy. He sighed again.
"There you are Lighting. Dinner's in the kitchen, afterwards go to the guardhouse, the guardsman sent for you." The maid said with a half-hearted smile.
Lightning sighed again and padded onward. The bright light of the mansion seemed to blind him as he stepped in. He blinked away the blinding light and looked around at the all too familiar home.
The sofa was always at the left corner of the large room. The mega large flat screen on the opposite side, other chairs bookshelves and accessories where they usually are throughout the room.
Lightning padded onward. Reaching the kitchen in a matter of moments he settle down in the dark bottom left-hand corner of the spacious kitchen.
Just as he finished eating a tall lean handsome man walked in. "Ah, there you are Lightning!" he exclaimed as if he didn't care hut was still happy. "I remember when I stole you from your pack as a pup." The man said.
A low growl erupted from Lightning. I do too old man! Lightning thought.
"It was hard but I did it!" the man bellowed proudly.
Lightning showed his fangs faintly this time, and tilted his ears almost flat against his head, as a warning. The man looked down at him and scowled. "Lightning, this is your home I am your master now you will be happy with it or else!" the man warned.
Lightning growled loudly in reply and stalked off towards the guardhouse.
The man grimaced as his gaze followed Lightning out.
