Long hallways were crowded with a sea of students. Shouting and laughter rang off the lockers and plastered walls. Everyone darted here and there, shoes scuffling along the tiled floors. She made her way to her locker, saying hi to her friends like she did every morning as she passed them in the hall. Dropping her bag carelessly on the floor, she turned the dial back and forth.

"Hey, where were you last night?" I didn't see you at the party." her best friend said as she came up beside her.

"Oh yeah, Mark and I went out for a drag and then we decided to take a drive." she said, swinging open the metal door.

"It took you all night to take a drag and go out for a drive?"

She gave her friend a mischievous look, indicating she shouldn't have to explain further.

As she turned back to her locker something out of the ordinary caught her eye.

A pair of black Converse made their way down the hall along with a faded shirt and a pair of dark washed-out jeans held up by a studded belt. the torso underneath was tall, toned, and tanned. She watched his every move as he came closer into view.

Slapping her friend's arm with the back of her hand, she pointed in front of her.

"Who's that?" she asked, unable to take her eyes off of him.

Her eyes followed her pointed finger to fall upon a boy who was now surrounded by a small group of guys who seemed to be carrying on a friendly conversation.

"That would be the new guy," she said, "that's all I know about him."

She glanced at her, looking twice to see that her eyes were still locked on the newcomer.

"Don't tell me…"

"What?" she asked innocently, turning to face her friend.

She eyed her knowingly, seeing past her display of innocence.

She shifted her gaze back towards the group of boys. A look of disbelief and annoyance washed over her face as she said, "You've got to be kidding me."

"What?" she asked again, this time confused.

"Don't look now, but whats-his-face is checking you out."

She looked at her friend in shock. Out of the corner of her eye she peered at the newcomer. Sure enough two bright hazel eyes were gazing right at her.

She had caught his eye not too long ago and now he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

She was standing by an open locker, talking to a blonde with pin straight hair that had pink highlights with a streak or two of green.

She was average height, not to tall-not too short, with black straight hair that went a ways past her shoulders. She had a slender, stunning figure with legs that went on for days. Her feet were fitted with a pair of red Converse, matched with a V-neck and skinny jeans, held up with a studded belt.

She had turned to face the blonde now, so he took the opportunity to fully take the sight of her in.

"Who's that?" he asked, nodding towards the two girls.

One of the guys glances over at them.

"Which one?"

"The one with the black hair."

He looks back over at them.

"Oh, that one." he says, turning back to face him, a sly and knowing smile playing across his lips.
