I ran from the old wing and into the newer ones, whipping around a corner and heading straight for the food court. I easily darted past other students heading for lunch. I skidded to a stop at the door and jumped up, peeking inside. I couldn't see much, which meant I'd have to get inside…

Goddamn it.

I hopped up one last time in time to see someone coming toward the door. I winced and leapt away, reeling myself around a corner and hiding just a ways away from the door. Just in time too, because Dominic came out first.

He looked like he really wanted to make an impression on this tour. His hair was all brushed and neat and he wore a blue and gray flannel shirt over a blue SAVE THE HUMANS shirt to match his jeans and converse. He was so cute sometimes.

Next came Aidan with his smooth, loose-flying caramel hair and big blue eyes. He wore a loose red shirt that clipped at his throat along with some nice corduroy jeans and a pair of brown leather boots. Wow, I didn't know Aidan had anything that expensive and fancy.

And here came Kyler, as stunningly gorgeous as ever. He wore a pale green beanie with a bill, tilted to the side with baggy jeans that sagged to show his plaid boxers to match a green and blue button up shirt over a white t-shirt to match his sneakers. He really knew how to make poor look good.

The star came next. I clung to the corner of the wall, my eyes widening at the sight of him in person. Dante Castillo came out after Kyler, raising an eyebrow at something Kyler was laughing about.

My god, Dante was beautiful. He had a mop of dark, dark hair brushed off to the left, hiding a bit of his face. His eyes were even greener in person than they were in his photo. He had a light shade of stubble across the lower half of his face, different from his photo, but it was even more arousing. He had such a nice build, especially for a human. He definitely was hiding a six-pack under his clothing and his shoulders were board and strong.

He wore a white button up shirt under a black pinstriped vest to match black jeans that hugged his legs nicely and a pair of black dress shoes topped off his outfit.

Ohhh, I wanted him! I wanted him so much!

I was about to just bolt out there and join them when I caught my reflection in the floor again. I immediately stepped back, grimacing. There was no way I could show myself to him like this.

My hair was a mess from rolling around in my sleep and my face was smudged with dirt from sleeping on the floor. I was also dressed in hideous, very unkempt attire. Someone like him, he'd probably be disgusted at the sight of me. I had to hide the entire time, then wait until I looked decent before I met him.

I stayed back, watching as they headed down the hallway toward the library. I strained to hear them as I kept a good ways behind them, keeping behind crowds of people that were moving through the hallways for lunch.

As I moved, I pulled my hood up and touched my fingertips to my padlock collar, closing my eyes in concentration it. A headache ensued and my back ached as the transformation took place, but I kept in any noises before keeping my tail hidden up behind me inside of my sweatshirt. I kept my hood up, but now hearing them was much easier.

"So, the library is off this way. It's really big and a lot of the books are ancient, dating back to-"

"Oh, don't bore him with your nerd talk, Dominic." Kyler snorted, shoving Dominic with a smirk. Dominic scowled and Aidan sighed, shaking his head. Dante seemed to smile faintly.

"I'm sure it wouldn't bore me. I'm highly interested in their world."

Sweet Satan, his voice was precious. It was so strong and hot, metallic. I wanted him to speak some more. Had I been on their little tour trip with them, I'd be spewing stupidity, just to have him respond to me! I'd want him to say my name…

"The library's boring," Kyler complained, pushing out his lower lip in a pout, "Why don't we show you the gym? It's way cooler, especially since it's summer. Lots of parties go down in there and it's fucking amazing."

"Because you get fucking wasted." Dominic murmured in mock awe. Kyler glared at him silently. Aidan shifted uncomfortably.

"Uh, so, Dante, what do you think of the school so far?" He asked innocently. Dante stared straight ahead with a calm expression of relaxation, a faint smile tracing those perfect lips of his. He looked so casual with his hands in his pockets and his royal posture. Oh, he was so godly. How could he be human? There was just no way…

"It's interesting… A lot of students here as well. I've never had the pleasure of attending school before, even a private one."

"You were home schooled?" Aidan asked, perplexed. Dante nodded.

"My parents are… Paranoid. They're also part of the show business and they always figured someone was going to kidnap me for ransom, which is silly. I was home schooled by a professional teacher in both human education and supernatural. I was also given private self-defense lessons and all that other useless garbage." He explained.

"Wow, sounds like a strict lifestyle." Aidan pointed out. Dante seemed to agree, judging from the expression on his face with his brow lifted along with the corner of his mouth. A mouth that I just wanted to…

"I'd kill for that kind of shit," Kyler exclaimed, "I had to go to a shit public school before this and we lived in a ratty old trailer park! Fuck, we had the smallest trailer in the whole damn city! I'd of traded you any day!"

"Kyler." Aidan deadpanned with an annoyed glare. Kyler ignored the scolding look as Dante glanced at him with an amused stare.

"That so? I'd of thought someone like you had a more pampered lifestyle… You're honestly very attractive."

My heart sank.

Kyler blinked and looked at him, crinkling up his nose for a second and opening his mouth, probably to make a remark on how 'gay and retarded' Dante sounded, but Dominic cut him off quickly.

"Hey, I have an idea. We'll visit Headmaster Carols. He's probably eager to meet you since he couldn't when you first arrived. His office is nearby, come on. I know where it is."

I didn't follow. I let my ears fade away through my hair, my tail vanishing so it was no longer wagging against my back. I stood there in the middle of the hallway as Dominic led them away and the rest of the crowds faded, until I was standing alone.

Of course. I'm not surprised. Why wouldn't someone fall for Kyler right away? He was so pretty, and ditzy, sure, but something about him made you like him despite the fact that he had the tendency to be a jerk every once in a while. I'm not surprised at all that Dante wanted him. Hell, I wanted him from time to time, but not as much as I wanted Dante. The realization dawned on me and my chest ached.

I wanted Dante to say that to me.

I wanted anyone to say that to me.

You're very attractive.

You're so smart.

I love you.

I felt like my heart had just dropped into my stomach and I felt a cold tingling sensation wash over me as I stood there alone in the hallway. I felt empty again. The one thing I was looking forward to, the one thing I wanted to hold onto just slipped right through my fingers.

I eventually found the will to start walking, but I didn't quite know where I was going. I just let my legs carry me down the hallway and up a couple flights of stairs past the dormitories and the library. The hallways grew narrower and taller, maybe just a bit brighter. Visually anyway. Mentally, I felt like I was still walking in darkness.

I found myself standing at the entrance to the infirmary. I peered inside to see a couple kids lying in their beds and the nurse, Connor, fluttering from one bed to another with a pout on his face. I looked toward the office and saw Dr. Carmichael walking toward the back of the office.

I slipped inside and headed toward the office, hoping to sneak past Connor so he wouldn't make a fuss about me being there. He always did when he saw me there without a specific reason. As if wanting to talk to Charon wasn't a good enough reason and Charon spent more time in the infirmary than a sick person did. I drifted into the office, peeking around.

"Dr. Carmichael?" I asked. No response. I'm naturally curious, so I flitted deeper inside, looking around and listening before I heard a soft gasping.

"I-I told you! Uh! Not while I'm working- Oh!"

"You're not working. You're playing with me now, Charlie. And I'm pretty sure you don't want me to stop now while we've gotten this far."

"Charon, please! Ah! What if a patient- Ohh! Needs me!"

"I need you."

I stopped at the end of an aisle of medicine, daring to take a peek around the side to see Dr. Carmichael pressed up against the wall near the bathroom door, his legs spread apart with Charon holding him in his arms, a hand slithered down behind the doctor. I stared, unable to pull my eyes away as Charon seemed to be pushing his fingers inside Dr. Carmichael, making the doctor gasp and moan tilting his head up toward the ceiling.

Charon dipped his head down, kissing him on the throat and humming with a smirk on his face before Dr. Carmichael brought his head back down to pant against Charon's lips before they locked together.

I could've sworn that Dr. Carmichael hated him, and yet… Charon had somehow gotten the doctor to fall in love with him? Unless Charon was simply sexually molesting him, in which case I knew exactly how that felt, but that didn't seem to be what was going on now as Dr. Carmichael put his arms around Charon's neck, pulling him down so their kiss grew deeper.

Dr. Carmichael gave a long moan and arched his back before he came, his sweet erection spurting out streams of fluid on Charon's coat. Charon didn't seem to care and cupped the doctor's face in his hands, kissing him hotly before pulling back. They watched each other for a while with Dr. Carmichael panting softly against his lips.

"Charon, I'm so-"

"It's fine. I don't care about the coat. I can easily retrieve a new one… But I think I much rather stay here and taunt you some more, doctor."

"Charon…"

"Mmm, you're so delicious, Charlie. So sweet-"

"Don't call me Charlie."

"Charlie, Charlie, Charlie~"

"Charon!" Charon cut him off with a deep kiss that had 'Charlie' melting in his arms again. I didn't want to stay any longer and slipped off down the aisle, heading out of the office. I might as well just go back to the old wing and sit in the hallway until I die. Even Charon had a reason to stay now… Maybe staying here was a terrible idea… No one wanted me here anyway.

The humans didn't want me here.

Damon and his friends didn't want me here.

Charon, not even my father.

My heart trembled in the pit of my stomach and I just wanted to fall over and die-

"Cerberus! What the hell are you doing here? If you're just here to be a pain in the ass- Whoa. You look like you were just struck by lightening." Connor exclaimed as he stood in front of the infirmary doors. I looked up at him dully, cocking a brow.

"Oh yes, Connor. Let us speak to a sick student in such a manner. I think I'm getting better already." I answered sarcastically. Connor snorted, then studied my face.

"Oh, hun, really. You got a cold or something, damn! You look like you slept on the floor."

"I did."

"Well, what the hell for, you idiot? You have a dorm room, use it!"

"I'm not allowed."

"That makes no-"

"Look, incubus. It's really none of your business. I merely came here to discuss arrangements to leave with Charon, but he's obviously occupied. Once he's finished, could you send him to me in the old wing?" I asked. Connor blinked owlishly before glaring.

"What'd you mean you're leaving? My daily dose of cuteness will be gone!" He snapped.

"You always have the humans." I muttered. Connor stuck out his tongue.

"Gross! Humans are rats, I hate them. All weak and powerless… No, I wanna look at the most cutest creature in all of our world!"

"You're sucking up to me for something."

"What the hell do you have that I want, Prince Cerberus? Come now, tell Con-Con what's wrong. You look like you just had your heart ripped out." Connor pouted. I stared at him for a while, suspicious. I didn't want to tell him everything… But part of me wanted to at least give him the gist of it.

"I just lost all my friends and the one I wanted. I just wanna go back to Hell. It's where I belong anyway. No one wants me here." I replied. Connor frowned.

"What do you mean? You're just giving up?" He asked. I glared.

"I'm competing against Kyler." I snapped. Connor's mouth popped into an 'O', his eyes widening in realization.

"Ohh… So that's it. You fell in love with this guy and you were going to get him to love you back, but Kyler came along and now that guy likes Kyler and not you?" He asked. I cocked a brow, folding my arms over my chest.

"Yes, mostly. Although, Kyler didn't do it on purpose. He can't help that he's beautiful." I answered. Connor hummed, standing up straight.

"That so? Well! I have news for you, Prince Cerberus. First of all, Kyler's as dumb as a doorknob, so any relationship with him won't last long, unless another idiot fell in love with him, said idiot being O'Connell. And I know you don't pick idiots as your lover. Second of all, you came to the right place because, Prince Cerberus, I can fix you up so cute that this guy won't be able to resist you!"

"Fix me up? Seeing as my true form is a dog, that wording frightens me."

"Not that kind of fix, dork. I mean, I'm gonna get you out of those shabby clothes and clean you up so you're all nice and cute for this guy, got it?" Connor asked eagerly with a grin. I was so tempted to say no. After all, I'm still lacking what Kyler has and Dante wants pretty, ditzy Kyler. Not bratty, ugly Cerberus.

"But why will it matter? He still won't like me, just because I look like a China Doll."

"Screw you! Don't give up, you idiot! You went through shit to get here and you are so not giving up! It'd of been a total waste of time and you, kid, shouldn't waste your time! Look, let me doll you up and then I'll ask the doctor for a break so I can follow you and give you man tips, all right? And if I screw things up, you can eat my left leg."

"Why your left one?"

"Because my right one is too pretty to eat. Now come on! Time to make you adorable again!"

Sweet Satan, what had I gotten myself into?
