It was just another day at the LS2S program from IMSA that Tammi had been attending for about a month. She was waiting for the extremely late bus that was supposed to be picking up the students and taking them to the campus. Her friends from school Michael, Anthony, and Anneesah were waiting with her in their cars. Suddenly the bus pulled up and she waved her cousin Victor goodbye. She spotted her teacher Mrs. Brooks waving goodbye to her two sons Michael and Anthony and drive away.

"Hey Anneesah. Hey Anthony. Hey Michael." Tammi said.

They each replied with a "hey" and boarded the bus. Tammi sat down in the second seat and Anthony sat next to her. Michael and Anneesah sat in a seat on the other side.

"Anthony can you switch seats with me? I want to sit with Tammi." Anneesah said.

"No I don't feel like moving." he retorted and turned back around.

"Okay fine! Tammi switch with Michael." Anneesah ordered.

"No I want to sit with Anthony." Tammi replied.

"But Tammi I can't sit with Michael." Anneesah whined.

"Why not? Michael's cool." Tammi said and sat back down.

She turned to Anthony.

"So Anthony, I saw you slow juking in the corner with Kierra."

Anthony let out a blissful sigh.

"Girl, I was numb from the waist down last night."

"Anthony!"

"Huh?""Too much."

"It's true. All the boys were. I saw you juking Kenneth last night."

"Yeah I did…"

"Do you like him?"

"Nope."

There was now a silence that fell over the two teenagers.

"So about Kierra… Do you like her?" Tammi asked playfully.

"Well, there's her and then there's someone else…"

On these words he glanced at Tammi seriously. It made her heart throb because recently she'd started liking him. He always flirted with her but she never paid him any attention, it wasn't long ago when he flirted with her for the first time.

In Social Studies

Anthony glanced at Tammi with a mischievous smile.

"So where's my money at?" he inquired.

Tammi scowled. "Do I look like your hoe?" she retorted.

"Yes." he chuckled.

Tammi rolled her eyes and went on doing her work.

Coming from the gym

Tammi was walking back to Social Studies and Anthony was walking behind her.

"Don't walk so slowly. Its temping." he chuckled.

Tammi turned around and stared at him. He didn't move and the grin didn't fade. She just shook her head and went back to class.

She wasn't sure if she actually liked him but she was starting to get nervous around him. She looked back at Anneesah and Michael. Michael looked completely miserable as Anneesah went on talking. Tammi couldn't help but chuckle to herself.

She wondered who this "someone else" could be. It couldn't have been her. Anthony and Tammi were only friends. After a while Tammi began to get restless.

"Calm down. We're almost there." he sighed.

"No we're not, we're still in Bolingbrook." Tammi said plaintively.

"We'll be there in a minute… Just be still, please." he muttered.

"But I'm bored." Tammi whined.

"Then stare at the snow." he muttered.

"What's wrong with you?" Tammi inquired.

"Nothing." Anthony replied and yawned.

"If you're tired why don't you go to sleep?" Tammi asked dubiously.

"I can't-" he began and his voice dropped into a whisper.

"I have dreams."

"Anthony!" Tammi cried in shock.

"No, not wet dreams." he muttered, irritated.

"Oh okay." Tammi said softly.

She stared at the snow for a while and glanced back at him. He let out another yawn and was on the brink of drifting to sleep.

"So did you start on that homework?" Tammi inquired.

"No. Why do you keep looking down? You must want to see." he said.

Tammi looked up.

"What?"

"You keep looking down. Do you want to see it?"

Tammi knew exactly what that "it" was.

"I'm not looking down."

"Yes you are. Every time I talk to you, you look down. Do you?"

Tammi just looked out of the window.

"Hey Tammi."

Tammi turned back around. Anthony's hand was in his coat, near his belt buckle which was still covered by the oversized coat.

"It's right here."

Tammi flinched as he threw his hand from under his coat but it was only his hand.

"I'm just kidding."

The cycle repeated a few times before finally the bus pulled up at the school. Anneesah ran to Tammi immediately and tore her away from Anthony, who was just walking behind them with his brother. Tammi wasn't paying Anneesah any real attention. She was trying to figure out who the other girl that Anthony liked was. She didn't care particularly but it was nice to know. As they filed into the auditorium they saw food.

"Ooh they have coffee!" Anneeash said.

"That food looks good." Tammi agreed.

Then Tammi had an idea to test the water.

"Anneesah what would you say if I said I liked Anthony?" Tammi asked.

"Oh my God! Get away from me! Just go away!" she shrieked.

Michael and Anthony were on the other side of the row and they both looked at Anneesah.

"I was just playing. Calm down I don't like Anthony." Tammi said quickly before she started a scene.

"Oh, you don't" Anneesah inquired, recovering from her fit instantly.

"No I was just kidding." Tammi said.

"Oh good 'cause I was fin to say." Anneesah said.

Tammi rolled her eyes and sat down beside Michael since Anthony decided to sit at the end of the row. Anneesah went to get herself some coffee and Tammi went with her. She couldn't help but glance back at Anthony who was sitting down. Although he was rather scrawny and barely half an inch taller than her she had to admit there was something different about him, something she liked.
