Adelphophagy is the act of eating one's own brother.
It occurs in sharks, the most vicious of God's creatures, if only because they deploy two killing techniques at once: puncture wounds and drowning. So if you're ever attacked by a shark, guess what?
Your chances of dying just doubled.
This is why it shouldn't surprise us that sharks devour their own siblings in embryo. The cannibal and his siblings grow together, share together. Until the former is overcome by instinct, and the latter are quickly gone forever.
What I did to my brother was much, much worse.
This brother flew from his life instantaneously. The actual leaving of this world was quick and painless.
But he died the slowest, most painful death imaginable.
I would know. I'm the one who killed him.
I devoured him little by little, one piece of his soul at a time. I ate away at him; adelphophagy.
And now I pay the price.
