Dagger
Your first mistake was pulling out your dagger.
They say the pen is mightier than the sword.
This is true. A sword can stab your body,
But the pen can stab your soul.
How many of us lie and say that we don't care what others think of us?
Our best friend walks by and smiles at you.
You smile back.
You turn around and not ten minutes later
You hear them say words about you that you never dreamed
Would come out of their mouth.
How dare you?
Do you really think that stabbing that pen from behind
Would hurt less than the front?
You direct your words at my back and not my ears
But they all bleed.
What do you want?
Do you want me to bend over for you?
Break my spine?
Shed tears?
What could you possibly want from me
That I could even begin to offer?
What could you possibly steal from me
That I won't receive compensation for?
What could you possibly take from me...
What could you possibly take from me
That you don't believe I'll fight for?
That's it, isn't it? You don't think I can fight back.
Well I can.
Your first mistake was pulling out your dagger.
Your second was believing that I didn't have one of my own.
