Chapter One

The crowded room of the lunchroom made everything seem absolutely in chaos. Everyone rushing about like chickens with their head cut off.

Heart pounding through my chest, I wasn't able to get a small understanding of the situation with everyone just aimlessly wandering around. I finally wasn't able to stand watching everyone running about, grabbing a random person by their arm, I whirled them around to face me.

I was not expecting to see what I saw, sure maybe a blank face of utter cluelessness but not the look of pure hunger, pale translucent skin, teeth all pointy and jagged and glowing red eyes. The look of hunger on their face only intensified when they were now facing me, lungs bubbling up a burst of raw air from deep down. Of course the terror now made my heart race even more, like a chainsaw was starting in my chest.

Racing away from the grotesque face, I shoved away the equally grotesque people, who now took an intense interest in me. I ran and ran through the sea of hungry bodies, neither finding peace nor solitude. But off in the far corner of the lunchroom, I could see a single bright light glaring down on single head of night black hair.

Screaming to the person, that I felt like I knew, I started to push harder through the bodies. Though it seemed as the closer I got, the more and more the hungry people got more clustered and hungrier. Ripping in to my clothes, their nails left trails of blood, that I bizarrely didn't feel, down my soft white shirt, boot cut jeans and shoeless feet.

Then the scene changed entirely from clawing hands to grabbing trees branches and instead of my feet slapping harmlessly against tile, they were now being tore at by thorns. Everything felt strangely empty, like my heart was losing a very significant part of it, which was needed to keep it beating.

In the distance, the scene didn't change much except also now the table was in the middle of the forest too, with the spot of night black hair absorbing the beam of sunlight that penetrated the trees branches. Oblivious to the incoherent screams, the head remained down, scribbling whatever away on the sheet of paper that sat in front of them.

Stumbling over an upraised tree root, I fell down onto the forest floor with an oomph and a thud. Unknowingly and without me holding them back, tears also fell from my eyes to patter onto the emerald grass, already wet with dew and staining my hands green. The crunch of leaves and a firm but gentle and cool touch of a hand to my face halted the stream of tears from my eyes.

The black haired people's hand still cradling my cheek moved their thumb under my eye to wipe away one of the tears that still wanted to escape. A deep chuckle coming from down in the persons gut shook my face slightly," Why are you crying again Ken," a deep but smooth and sincere voice soothed," you know crying makes your eyes itch."

Throat clogged with a huge lump, that I had no idea why it was there, I raised my head to look into the eyes of the dark haired person that so gently and tenderly wiped away my tears. But just as before, the scene changed entirely and not for the better.

As the face of the dark haired man, as I could tell from the blurring remnants of his face that he was definitely male, blurred away with a torrent of crimson blood. The forest being completely submerged in the same torrent of blood, I was washed away by that alluring force. Immersed by ever passing flow of crimson liquid, I was surprisingly giddy from the feeling it made on my alabaster skin. Making everything ring in my ears and sending a sort of singing sound through my bones.

Jerking to one side, the flood tumbled me into a dizzying heap on a floor a black marble so cold, that it felt like the very northern part of the Artic laid beneath my check and spinning head. Still spinning I shakily moved my hands beneath my body to get a glimpse of the slowly less spinning room.

Dark pillars, a shade even darker then the floor that it seemed that they sucked the light out of the very room, well what little light there was, an ever expanding room that it seemed like there were no walls and looking even closer, I could see that there were no walls! Stumped by the no walls, the ceiling was the last to be checked out. What with being weirded out by the no walls, I was positively flabbergasted by the site of the ceiling.

There, suspended by God knows what, was the Moon. In full Moons light and to close for my comfort, the huge piece just hung there like it was no one's business to know How THE HELL IT GOT SO CLOSE. Feeling like my eyes would bug out of my head, I heard a dark and chilling chuckle resonate throughout the whole Hall (if you could call it a Hall).

"Well, well, well, hello there my little bumpkin, what a wonderful prophetic dream you were having," a voice said, that somehow sounded both amused and angry," but if it is in any way up to me, YOU WILL NEVER MEET HIM!"

Cackling like thunder, speared throughout the grand hallway breaking the glistening black marble floor with deep rumbles from deep within the earth. Terror even more stronger than before lanced through my body, jolting my heart in a galloping run, like a thousand horses running in an open meadow free from everything. But that wasn't my case, floor cracking and pillars collapsing all around me, I couldn't get a find a single spot to ride out the quake.

Quickly turning once more to find a spot, a piece of the floor broke away from underneath my feet. Air rushing past my face, I was only able to get out one last scream until…
