Pride
They think me a savage
Since I don't live within their cage
But we don't preach to them
With sharp words and sharper tools
They take the land that is not ours
But neither is it theirs
They plant and plant – they exhaust it
With no thought of regret or care
All these groups have hurt us
As though we are not human, too
Do they not see us bleed?
Do they not hear our prayers, our pleas?
They may not hear nor see,
But neither shall they enjoy their victory.
No – our tears will not be wept
For we are too proud for that
