It's there,
In the back of my mind
Eating away at the happiness I'm feeling.
It doesn't let it through,
Trying to kill it
Ending the warm feeling
And starting the cold.
Wetness falls,
Dryness flees
Warmth goes
Coldness comes.
Curling up
Pretending your alone
Trying to be quiet
But failing.
Shaking terribly,
Cuddling yourself,
Not letting go.
Trying to find the warmth,
Happiness, even,
But coming up cold and blank.
Wetness doesn't leave,
Until you float into unconsciousness,
Leaving the warmth behind,
Curled in coldness.
