Star Light
(After Robert Frost's Acquainted with the Night)*
-.-.-.-.-.-
I am one acquainted with the night. *
Luna and her Daughters as my only guide.
Giving me the gift of sight.
-.-.-.-.-.-
The deep, black blanket of space where they abide,
Is a place I wish to be.
Perhaps the Milky Way needs another bride?
-.-.-.-.-.-
Perhaps He would want me?
A mere mortal of no consequence,
But what is there in me to see?
-.-.-.-.-.-
True, I have a small brilliance
That once was a bright fire,
But tonight – I feel my light's absence.
-.-.-.-.-.-
The Galaxy shall not admire
Me – however strong my desire.
