Two Lovers
Two lovers sitting alone
With tears on their face-
Too much said and done
For time to erase.
Two hearts hurting
Over painful pasts-
Struggling too often
To make this one last.
Two worlds colliding
With no room to grow-
Both wanting and fearing
To just let it all go.
Two people too stubborn
They push and they pull-
Caught loving then hating
Eyes empty, mouths full.
Two chances too many
Yet never enough-
Skeletons keep piling
Waters churning and rough.
Two minds one in sync
Now a dissonant noise-
Without use, without place
Like ones' childhood toys.
Two strands of fate interwoven
Now falling away and apart-
Due to loss of faith, or perhaps
Just changes of heart.
Two lovers sitting alone
With tears on their face-
Where once there lived magic
Exists only empty spaceā¦
