POEM- WOLVES by Shauni Cooper
I hear their melodic voices
And yet I feel no fright
I hear them calling from afar
Swift creatures of the night
They dance upon a blanket
Of fresh, white winter snow
Graceful ghosts of the shadows
With piercing orbs that glow
Forgive me for staring
But your fur gleams so brightly
With trickles of ice crystals
That melt ever so slightly
Run handsome creatures
With the strength that you bore
Sing to your bright guide
As you have done so many times before
Your presence strikes fear
With your white fangs and gleaming fur
But your elegance shows beauty
With quick feet that are a blur
Follow your path wise creatures
In loving packs, so tight
You are overpowering, you are wolves
Eternal masters of the night
