Hey guys. I just noticed my way of writing the chapters. Which do you prefer? Blake's POV also Daniel, Daevon and other's (upcoming) POV to be first person also? I mean, Blake talks first person and Daevon and the others talk with second or third person. I was wondering if you, my dear readers are okay with that. If someone actually reads this story though, hehe. I should be grateful! I love you all and I hope you guys know that.

So what do you guys think?

And oh, here's the chapter. Please R&R!

Chapter 6, Hey girl you know you drive me crazy

"Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?"
- Det. James Carter - Rush Hour

"Dave?" Daevon jerked his head up to see the face of his best friend narrowing his eyes on him. They were now sitting on their usual lunch table near the centre aisle. "What's the problem?"

"Huh? Why? There's no problem." Daniel rolled his eyes at the flat out lie Daevon told him. He was not his best friend for nothing. Daniel resisted raising an eyebrow at his best friend's fail attempt of lying.

"I would have believed you if you're not wearing that troubled expression on your face. You look like you're having constipation. Well…I change my mind. You look like a 40 year-old woman with PMS." Daevon sniggered and snorted at Daniel's comment. The boy casually shrugged and winked to a girl passing by their table that was just literally checking him out.

"You know if you continue on winking, your eyes will fall on the ground." Daevon commented, hiding his face against his arms again.

"Stop being an old woman with anger and depression management issues."

"Stop being a bickering house wife."

"I'm not bickering."

"Yes you are."

"No."

"Yes."

"Then stop being such a terrible liar telling me you're okay when it's not. Oh, and stop scowling. You're scaring the cheerleaders who are watching us." Daniel answered coolly; winking and mouthing a silent 'hey' at the cheerleading captain whose name was Jessica Palmer. Daevon snickered at his seat that earned him a glare from Daniel.

The raven-head narrowed his eyes and scrunched his nose in response. The two of them stayed like that and it was Daevon who broke the contact first.

"Daniel, look, okay, okay, I'm fine but tired." Daevon sighed in defeat as Daniel continued to look at him sternly. "Enough with the looks, you're freaking me out." That's when his gaze landed on some certain dark-haired boy sitting across the brunette on the centre aisle.

"I would literally buy that but I think half of your sentence is a lie." Daniel said while taking a bite at his sandwich. "And stop looking like a freaking hawk at Nicol, man. He's barely doing anything wrong to you."

"What are you now, a psychic or something?" Daevon rolled his eyes and looked over the table of where his target was. "What do you mean? My gaze is certainly normal."

"You looked like you're just about to murder him right on the spot." Daniel snorted and Daevon shifted in his seat, pouting. If there was one person in this world who could make him do that, it was Daniel nonetheless. The bastard really knows how to make him feel irritated, angry, happy, sad, uncomfortable and afraid that he would just want to run for his damn life all at the same time.

Fuck the Crestons and their bloody bloodline and acts of making people run for their lives.

Fuck the Crestons for being so damned hard-to-get and mysteriously interesting. Fuck them for having such beautiful girls in their family. Fuck them for making Blake so beautiful. Fuck them for—

Wait, did he just think that?

The mission impossible plan was a big failure. That's why he was moping on his seat at the lunch table. He was trying his best to get to know more about the mysterious hottie that was his best friend's sister. She was such a pain in the ass. She was walking first then running after. Who seriously does want to put up with that? He groaned in frustration at the thought. Was she seriously doing those in purpose?

Alright, seriously, Daevon thinks that being a bloody bitch was one of Creston family's arts. Daniel is sometimes bitchy and bites people's head off when not in the mood, as far as he can remember; Mrs. Creston's a big shot, all popular and beautiful but a big bitch (my mother's words) back in her high school days and Mr. Creston? Nah, he was just a plain pathetic asshole. It must have run through the veins.

He closed his eyes again and leaned on his seat, rubbing his temples.

It's now or never.

Daevon, hurry your lazy ass up that fine looking woman or you'll regret that you did not. Some certain fucktard might go all over her and ruin your chance.

Hurry your ass up!

I heard my brain complain as I groaned internally, making no noise as my face remained blank. Oh, great so he was now talking to himself. He felt like a nerdy bastard. Marvellous. Great, so…since when?

Since Aurora showed up and mess your life, idiot. His brain retorted; he snorted.

Okay, proceed to Plan A.

Plan A:

7:45 AM.

Target status: Walking to class.

Agent status: Staring like a hawk.

Plans: Shows up casually and offers to take and carry her books.

Important notes: She loves to wear something blue every day.

And now what is he suppose to do? Fly and jump to her side then say, 'Hi, I happen to find you interesting, may I know you more? Oh, let me carry your books.' kind of shit?

He snorted again. Well, he pretty does this lately.

"Well, I guess here goes nothing." Daeon sighed as he ran a hand through his thick raven coloured hair and trying to make his face stable. His hands were going clammy as he slowly wiped them on his uniform's pants. Fuck this girl for making him so nervous without doing anything! Fuck this girl for even making him interested when he's not supposed to be!

Why was he interested in her anyway?

He closed his eyes momentarily to steady his breath and remained like that for a moment while opening and closing his hands. He set his lips to a thin line as his piercing grey eyes landed directly to the brunette who was walking away now with his half-brother, smiling cheek to cheek. Nicol was carrying her books and the crowd were giving them odd looks.

He closed his eyes again to at least lessen his thumping heart, chanting some cooling down words.

That's when it hit him.

His eyes darted open as it landed to two moving figures ahead of him; Blake and Nicol's figure. Nicol was with Blake this early? Fuck, they act like they were a couple that's in love with each other!

If they weren't established as best friends here then he would've thought that Nicol was in love with her. It'll be better if he was the one walking Blake to her class.

Great, the fucktard arrived here before him and stupid things were now stuffed on his mind.

He was busy fuming over his brother when he didn't notice some certain pair of baby blue hues glancing at him with a smug expression.

Daevon heaved another heavy sigh again. He buried his face under his arms; growling with frustration. Every person who comes over their table and look at them (mostly to Dave) are both filled with concerns. Daniel smiles politely and waves off any person who tries to come near a moping king.

"Seriously Dave," Daniel began, shrugging. "Stop acting like it's the end of the world."

"Shut up, Creston." Daevon hissed, not bothering to look up. "I don't need lectures right now."

Daniel shrugged as a response then looked at Daevon's back facing the ceiling. Hands over his face, hair really messy, constant swearing of incoherent words and ears getting red. (His ears always get the shade of red whenever he is annoyed, frustrated or mad.)

"What did Blake do to you this time?" Daniel finally asked. "Is this all about her because I swear I'll-"

"No."

"What do you mean 'no'?" Daniel asked again, raising an eyebrow. "You're saying the other thing yet your face is screaming everything else."

Daevon sometimes hate Daniel for knowing him so well.

"It was not her. I was just having a shitty day, k?" Daevon answered, sighing frustratingly. "She absolutely has nothing to do with everything." Or not….

"You know, Blake is really nice. You just have to penetrate through that thick layer of ice shell she built up around her to prevent people from penetrating and going through." Daniel sighed and leaned back on his chair, eyes focused to where his sister was seated. "It was really nice before, just the three of us, sitting, laughing, teasing, playing…."

Daniel stopped dead on his words, swallowing real hard making his Adam's apple move from the movement.

Oh, crap. He did not just say that.

"What do you mean?" Daevon asked; attention fully on his best friend and no one else. "Three of us? Three of us who?"

"Ah, well, nothing, man. It's something you and Blake wouldn't remember." Daniel shrugged and smiled sheepishly at his best friend, looking all shocked and confused at once.

"Blake and I? Since when? This time, the raven head narrowed his eyes at Daniel. "Dude, you're not telling me something, you're leaving me off the tracks. And what's worse is that I can't understand you."

Daniel swallowed again while he shrunk on his seat, avoiding the gaze of Daevon. If there was anything in this world he would be angry at, it will be his sharp and careless tongue. "It's nothing, man."

"Okay…." Daevon trailed, shrugging also. Daniel grinned, trying to ease up the tensioned atmosphere that was all over them at the moment. "If that's what you say, man."

Now, that was odd.

"Ah, right. The new carnival will be doing its grand opening tonight. There'll be many girls coming from different schools. Want to come with me? Seth, Jason, Steve and Mark will be coming."

"No shit?" Daevon peeked from his current position. "You guys will be coming?"

"Yeah…." Daevon's grin widened as he sat up straight and leaned into the table. Daniel grinned also while greeting people that are passing by their table. "Of course, it was them who told me. Jason called me over the phone last night."

"Great! How long have been since the 6 of us hang out?" The dark-haired boy was now smiling cheek to cheek and raised his hand to give his best friend a big high 5. "I know it's been a long time but…this is just great!"

"You're right. We've been all busy…." Daniel trailed, leaning against his chair and picking on his food. "The 23rd annual Rosewater Creek games are starting next week, we'll be busy these next few days for practice. Let's just hang out before that."

"Yeah sure, I'll be there." The dark-haired boy smiled gently and waved at a few girls who are looking at them.

"Great! So tonight it is?"

"Yeah, tonight it is." And I hope I won't ruin anything.

Nicol was laughing with Blake for something she said. For all honesty, Nicol has never been best friends with a girl before. Blake was his first. But Blake didn't know him, for her, this was their first meeting.

They enjoyed each other's company, they clicked and then voila, they're now best friends. It's just easy as that. Besides, who wouldn't want to hang out with the most beautiful and nicest girl in the academy? Before, he was hanging out with 6 guys; Seth Carmichael, Mark Wellington, Steven Thompson, Jason Adams, Daniel Creston and his half-brother Daevon Kingley. They were all fun to be with and they are all nice guys But then something happened that tore them all. They used to be close, like real brothers, they used to hang around each other, laughing and enjoying things, Nicol used to hang around Daniel and Daevon because they were like his brothers, best friends, all three of them among the 7 guys in the group. They were very popular, the good times, everything. It was so happy back then.

Back before when everything was still A. OK.

Nicol discovered that Daevon slept with Daniel's girlfriend. It was the ultimate betrayal. Of course, Daniel didn't know about this and Daevon was unaware that Nicol knew, it was a secret he couldn't tell to anyone, it was his burden.

Nicol even left the football team because of that and joined the Archery club instead. He decided to distance himself to them; to the group afraid of spilling out a certain truth that might stain his brother's relationship with Daniel. They've been best friends for 11 years already. He was a witness. He looked up at Daniel even though their age gap isn't that large. Daniel's only older at Nicol for 4 months. He adored his half-brother; Daevon was extra nice to him.

And of course, He would never forget that day.

That day 10 years ago; the accident that occurred 10 years ago that almost killed Daevon for saving the life of a young girl. This was the young girl that he knew his brother fell in love with up until now. They were young, Nicol remembered. The three of them; Daniel, Daevon and the little girl were all so young. They all laugh together, tease each other, play pranks at the little girl, and scare boys who try to hurt and play fun at the little girl, have fun together, play together, everything. Nicol was in the dark, he really wanted to meet them. Until one day, Daevon brought him along and introduced him to Daniel. It was the happiest moment of his life. And he also met the little girl.

Nicol felt guilty. He felt so bad and he felt like a traitor.

It's because he also fell in love with the young girl.

Until one day, Daniel came running to him, crying. They were so young, what can 7 year olds do? Daniel was saying something that Daevon was dying and so was the young girl. They were stranded in the building where his grandmother lived; the building that was devoured by fire that cost lives of 30 people 10 years ago.

After all of that, he never saw the young girl again. Daevon forgot her name and all about her because of the head injury he got because of the incident. His brother had a minor case of amnesia that lasted for only a year. His family helped him remember, he and Daniel helped Daevon remember. Yet Daevon totally forgot all about the girl and everything about her. But Nicol knew it was still the young girl that his brother loves after all of these years. Daevon kept asking him questions about a young girl he met yet he can't remember and he refused to tell him a word. He kept quiet; he let Daevon be in the dark about everything.

But Nicol knew who the young girl was. He obviously knew because he can't forget who it was.

He will never forget who the young girl is.

Nicol will never forget Daniel's twin sister, Blake.

"Hey, are you still with me?" He barely heard Blake call him. "Nicol?"

The dark-haired boy tilted his head to the side, looking at Blake, dumbfounded. "Huh?"

Blake's laughter rang through his ears like a smooth melody and he was jerked back to reality in an instant. Blake's baby blue hues were looking at him, dancing with amusement. "You know, it's rare for you to space out in the middle of a conversation. Why is it? Is it because of a girl?"

Nicol rolled his eyes and chuckled. "No, why would I even think of a girl?"

"If you show no interest, I might think you're gay."

"Hm? Me? Gay?"

"Yeah, you, a gay; as in someone who pries for boys and don't have any interest with boys."

"Will you kindly repeat that?" Nicol asked with a suggestive smirk.

"You're. A. Gay." Blake said while laughing.

"You might not want to know what will be your consecutive punishment because of that."

"Oh? Should I be scared? And what would that be?" Blake rolled her eyes, chuckling. "Should I be calling my momma and poppa for this?"

I might, no, I will really kiss you. "Well, it wouldn't be something that's really scary."

"Oh, yeah? I'm not really scared of you. I mean, you? You can't even hurt a single fly."

"You make me look and move like a pansy."

Blake smirked then looked at the dark-haired boy smugly. "Maybe it's because you really are a pansy." Nicol just rolled his eyes and continued to eat his sandwich.

"My brother's coming." Blake said that made Nicol turn to look behind him. Daniel and Daevon were approaching their table together with 6 guys.

The cafeteria grew silent.

"Blake!" Daniel called, grinning from cheek to cheek. Daevon smiled on his way while the 4 other were grinning. Alright, what is the meaning of this? Nicol thought, smiling faintly.

"Nicol, man," Seth Carmichael said, grinning. "It's been so long."

"Hey," Nicol replied, nodding on his way. "Yeah, what's up man?"

"Well…." Mark Wellington trailed, tapping his chin. "I don't know?" Jason Adams nudged Mark Wellington on his side, earning a groan from the boy. Mark smiled on Nicol's direction while Jason was pushing Steven forward with a grin.

Steven smiled cheekily as the young boy immediately took the empty seat near Nicol. "Sup, Nicol?"

"Hey, Steve," Nicol smiled fully, nodding his head to his direction. "Nah, nothing really. What about you?"

"So that was it!" Mark Wellington declared, sounding hurt. "You will talk to us if we brought Steve along!"

"Stop acting like a stupid person, Mark." Daevon said, rolling his eyes. "Nicol's always ready to talk to us. It's just you guys wouldn't even want to because you're all busy."

"Yeah, you guys are so busy with your own lives that you didn't even notice Nicol drifting away from you all." Daniel retorted earning direct glares from the 4 boys. "Whoa, sorry dudes, it was just the truth."

Daevon snickered at his position, leaning on one of the chair's backs. Daevon glanced at Blake's direction who was non-reactive at the moment. Nicol ran a hand through his dark hair while chuckling. "So…what is it you guys want?"

The 6 boys grew silent this time with the 'Are you fucking serious?' expression on their faces.

Blake cleared her throat as she thrust another piece of the salad she was eating on her pink lips. Nicol smiled sheepishly as the 6 boys burst out laughing.

"No. Way." Seth Carmichael said, shaking his head. "You can't be that serious. Is that how you greet your friends?"

Daevon smirked while Daniel was raising a suggestive eyebrow at his direction. Mark Wellington and Steven Thompson were laughing their asses out. Jason Adams was silent but was flirtingly smiling while Nicol chuckled in response.

"Hey, Aurora, how are you? It's been so long since I last saw you." Jason said, smiling at Blake's direction. Nicol stared silently as the 5 men followed his actions after.

Blake raised her eyebrow, trying to remember who this guy was. "Oh." She smiled sweetly after recognizing him who the boy was. "Hey yourself, oh and I'm doing fine."

Nicol shrugged and took a bite at his sandwich, ignoring the two of them. They didn't notice it but the cafeteria was fully silent at the moment. The 5 other men gaped while Daniel and Daevon were shooting Jason their death glares.

"Adams, dude, you know each other?" Daniel said, feigning innocence. Jason froze to his spot, gulping because Daniel just used his last name and he sounded really pissed. Mark closed his mouth and leaned in the table to listen to the conversation; Seth smirked and pulled a chair closer while Steven leaned his elbow on the table to listen intently. Daevon just shrugged and Nicol ignored them all the way.

"Yeah, well…." Jason trailed, laughing nervously. The boy ran a hand through his dirty blond hair while licking his lips. His green eyes were glancing nervously at Daniel and then at Blake.

"They had sex. I think it was at a party on our junior year, you know, the party at Johnson's before?" Steven smirked and then raised an eyebrow at Daniel then at Jason. "Jason here my bud, told us that it was the best sex he ever had. And that Trista was nothing compared to Aurora."

Daevon snapped his head immediately at them while Daniel was now fuming. Nicol tilted his head on their way while Blake looked suggestively at her brother. The people in the table grew silent.

The whole cafeteria heard the exchange then one by on the people broke into noisy whispers.

Daniel's knuckles turned white while Jason's face paled. The light brunette boy looked like he was about to throw a fist at Jason's jaw when Blake squeezed his arm. "It's alright, Daniel. Jason here has no fault."

Nicol laughed silently to himself while Daevon tensed on his position. Actually, Daevon hated Jason since he heard that he slept with Blake. Well, Daevon still can't figure out why he was pissed.

"No fault?" Daniel replied, jaw tensing. Mark and the others silenced themselves, ready for Daniel's outburst. "Aurora Blakerhode Creston, you slept with him, my friend, without telling me! And so you're telling me it is your fault? Shit, Blake!"

"Oh, please! We both have no fault!" Blake rolled her eyes at her brother. "Not everything I do will always be concerning you, dearest twin brother."

Mark fell and stumbled down from his chair while Steven's eyes grew wide and colours drained from Jason's face. Seth smirked and rolled his eyes. Nicol laughed and Daevon sighed, running a hand through his dark hair.

"TWIN BROTHER? Wha…?" Jason, Mark and Steven said altogether while gripping on the table. "You guys are twins?"

"You know guys, you are all my friends but sometimes I want to proclaim otherwise because of all of your stupidity." Seth said matter-of-factly. Blake sighed while Daniel groaned in frustration as a response.

"You knew, Seth?" Mark asked incredulously.

"Of course, dickwad! I know! It's pretty obvious. They share the same features in the face, the same colour of the eyes though in different shade but it's blue nonetheless and the colour of the hair though in different shades but they are both brunettes! Sometimes Mark, man I want to strangle and bury you alive."

"Oh, sue me. I didn't notice that." Mark Wellington grinned, running a hand through his dark brown tawny hair. The features of the guy softened as he turned around and grinned at Blake's direction. "Well, they really look alike. Are they fraternal twins?"

"I guess not because they don't share the same kind of features in some places in their face." Seth Carmichael said, tapping his chin and looking at Daniel and then at Blake.

"Well, sue me too. I didn't know I had sex with Daniel's twin sis here." Jason Adams sighed, rubbing his temples. "I'm so sorry for that, man. I didn't know. I mean, that was way long ago already."

"Jason, man, you know, it's…it's alright, okay? I'll let this pass." Daniel said followed by a sigh. Daevon rolled his eyes and remained silent right after. Jason's face relaxed and his body also stopped tensing. Mark and the other three guys engaged themselves into their own conversations while Blake glared at the direction of his brother.

"You know Daniel, you really have no idea how much I am pissed at you right now." Blake hissed dangerously. Daniel raised his eyebrow but rolled his eyes. "Stop playing the role of a big brother when you're just older by mere 5 seconds!"

"Tsk, says the one who came out 5 seconds late." Daniel replied, snorting. "No matter what you say, I'm your big twin brother."

"By mere 5 seconds." Blake added, shaking her head.

Daniel snickered at his sister's remark while Blake just rolled her eyes and completely ignored him. Daniel soon engaged himself to a small conversation with Daevon and Nicol. They were laughing, telling jokes, teasing and having a great time. Nicol hadn't experienced this kind of lunch for almost a year or so. Distancing himself may have been a bad idea…or not.

Nicol shook the thought off his head while Jason Adams cleared his throat that earned the attention of everyone in their table. Daniel and other's head snapped to his direction, waiting for him to talk.

"Well, guys, as you can see…there will be a grand opening of a carnival near the city plaza tonight." Jason started while grinning. "Who's on for some carnival-ing?"

"Whoa, dude, that sounds awesome!" Mark Wellington cooed, shrugging sheepishly. "We can all go together if you guys want?"

"No, sorry, I won't go if Nicol won't." Blake added hastily while eyeing her salad. "I mean, I'm busy-"

"Ill go." Nicol said, shrugging. "I, well, it's been a long time since I went out our street."

"Good choice, man!" Steven chuckled, patting Nicol's back. Nicol grinned while giving the 4 other boys in the table a high 5. Daevon and Daniel grinned while turning their bodies to Blake's direction.

"Well?" Daniel raised an eyebrow while Daevon smirked.

Blake hesitated for a moment before answering. She swallowed hard first then heaved a heavy sigh after. Nicol smiled smugly while turning away to finish his sandwich, leaving Blake all alone. She could already feel 6 pairs of eyes burning holes through her body. Her jaw tensed, didn't know what to answer as her mouth couldn't comprehend of what to do next. Her hands became clammy as she slowly placed them on top of her legs, swallowing hard again.

After a few moments of silence, Blake sighed dejectedly.

"Alright. I'll go. But you guys have to wait for me until I get back from the place I volunteered myself into, okay?" She finally said, closing her eyes. The 7 boys all whistled and laughed in chorus after earning a 'yes' from Blake.

"Alright, of course, we'll wait for you!" Seth Carmichael answered, grinning cheekily. "We'll be waiting for you!"

"Thank you the-"

"Tonight, someone will fall into me." Daevon suddenly said out of the blue, glancing slightly at Blake. "I guess see you until then." And with that, Daevon pushed himself away from them, hands on pocket and heading to the cafeteria's exit.

Blake just blinked blankly in return.

"Don't worry about him." Mark said, chuckling. The boy suddenly leaned into Blake while whispering something, "He just loves to exit dramatically, you know, for cool points?"

Blake smiled at Mark Wellington's small remark. The guy seriously is funny.

10 seconds after, the lunch bell rang indicating that lunch was over and the next period's almost starting. Blake gathered her things and pushing herself up to stand up. Nicol and the other guys did the same as the people in the cafeteria slowly exited one by one. Blake could feel that her brother was looking at her smugly, too happy for her to give in and go to the carnival which she rarely do.

Nicol looked at the brunette while smiling to himself. A lot sure has changed since then…including me.

Shrugging, the dark-haired boy followed right after his friends.

Afternoon came in just like the speed of light. I didn't notice that it was already late afternoon if isn't for a certain dark-haired little girl who told me just a few minutes ago. I work at a day care center as a volunteer because they lack at people helping the people around the center. I have soft spot for little kids, anyway. Especially to a certain dark-haired emerald-grey eyed little girl who just looked so adorable in her curly pigtails. She was pouting while holding my hand. We are currently standing at the main door of the center, waiting for her ride to arrive.

"Okay, Coleen dear, I'm sure your ride will be arriving any time soon." I said to her as I crouched down on my knees to be at her level. The dark-haired girl looked at me with those big emerald-grey eyes of hers with a scowl on her face. She's even cuter when she's mad.

"No, no, no, no, big sister Blakey! My brother is sooo stewpid to even forget about me! I know he forgot about me again!" Coleen protested while her voice became crack. Oh no, she sounded like she was about to burst out and cry any moment.

"I'm sure he didn't forget about you, Coleen. Now, now, don't cry. You look a lot pretty when you smile!" I said, squeezing her nose. Coleen laughed in response as she tried to grip my hand with those itsy bitsy hands of hers. "Well, I'll call at your home then if they agree, I will be the one taking you home. Is that alright?"

"Yeah! Yeah! I'm sure they won't mind! I love you, Blakey!" Coleen said, hugging me with her small frame. I returned the hug but not that massive so I wouldn't be hurting her.

"Awe, I love you too, Coleen." I cooed, rubbing her back. This little girl was just the most Dearing of all. She was such a sweetie and she's too cute that I can't even resist her. Good thing, I hope that she doesn't have an evil brother because I actually never met anyone ever since I met her here 6 months ago.

Well yah, I actually am working part time at Rosewater Day Care center for over 6 months now and I've known Coleen for that long already. I've been a volunteer here due to my mom's doings. At first I protested but then lots of kids were all so cute that I didn't have the chance to complain about this job. Actually, it was fun considering you get lots of 'I love yous' from the children themselves every afternoon right before they go home.

And Coleen was one of the children I love here.

"So, you said that your brother will be coming today to pick you up, right?" I asked her, still cradling her on my arms. For a little girl, she sure is a little heavy. Or maybe my arms are just weak?

"Yeah, my big bro will be coming! But I think not yet, maybe sooner! But he's taking so long! Where is he?" Coleen ranted, scanning her eyes all over the place.

"Well, Coleen, you never described your brother to me. Will you do it while we wait for him?" I asked her while putting her gently back to the cold and hard cement. "Is he great?"

"Yeah! My big bro's great! He is soooo tall, he has ravened black hair, he has grey coloured eyes, he's smart, he's nice, he takes care of me and I love him!" Coleen said proudly, showing me her line of teeth with the center tooth missing. "But he's late."

Black…hair?

Grey eyes?

Tall frame?

Shit, is Coleen describing…?

The place is slowly being devoured by the darkness as the rays of the setting sun emitted through the open night sky. It was already getting late and Coleen's brother isn't arriving yet. Well, I have my hopes up. I hope that he isn't the person that Coleen was describing as her big brother.

A car stopped and parked on the side of the Day Care Center, the driver was killing the engine and getting out of the car. He was slowly jogging towards us as he stuffed his keys on the pocket of his clothes explaining things to someone.

"Coleen, sorry, I was late. I have to run into dad's office that's why I'm late. I'm so sorry!" A deep and sexy yet familiar voice said, jogging towards the main door. His silhouette was now a lot clearer than it was a while ago when it was still emerged in the dark. "Will you forgive m-"

I turned to face the stranger.

My jaw dropped on the ground. His mouth hanged widely while the little girl that was by her side was now marching happily to the side of the said boy.

"Daaavvveeee!" Coleen cooed, hugging the boy on his legs.

Shit.

Why didn't I notice it before?

Coleen Denise Kingley.

Of course, the little girl was Daevon's younger sister. I must have notice the similarities if I weren't busy as hell. I tried to bit back a scowl, at least not for the sake of the little girl who's in hearing range.

"Shit, Bla-Aurora?"

I swallowed grimly, my eyes never leaving his face. I slowly nodded while I tried to manage a small and weak smile. I have to be polite because Coleen's here. I don't care if she's the little sister of the biggest jerk I know. She's the biggest sweetheart I've ever met so I need to do this for her sake. I don't want her to think badly about me.

Okay, Blake, breath in, breath out. You can do this.

"Well, yea-"

"What did mom told you about bad words, Dave? I'm going to tell you on mom." Coleen intervened, pouting her small, pink lips.

"Oh, wait, no!" Daevon's head snapped down the little girl that's hugging his legs. He bent down to pick her up and cradles her in his arms. He plastered a wide grin then kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry, it's because she's someone I know of."

Coleen's face lightened up and smiled brightly at her big brother. "You two know each other? Dave knows Blakey?"

Daevon's head turned to look at me with the slyest grin I ever saw. He playfully raised an eyebrow in my way while I stared at him dumbly. My lips were set into a thin line while I stared at him, carefully not letting any emotions to show up.

"Yeah, I know Blakey here, Coleen." Daevon grinned, raising his eyebrow at me. He did give an extra emphasis on my name. "She's the twin sister of Daniel."

"Really? Blakey is the twin sister of Danny? Oooh, that's why I told her before that she looked familiar, and she's extremely nice and sweet and she's really, really pretty! And she also loves me soooo dearly! Right, Blakey? Right?" Coleen said, clapping her hands in a very delighted manner. This is one of the traits that I love about this girl. She is so honest and so sincere and dedicated in every work and word she says. She'll be a very awesome and beautiful girl someday.

"Of course, Coleen, I love you." I focused my gaze on the little girl in Daevon's hands while I smiled warmly at her and not minding the person who carries her. "You know that, sweetie, right?"

"Yep, I know! And I love Blakey so much!" She said, grinning cheekily.

This is why I love this little girl so much.

Daevon cleared his throat and raised a suggestive eyebrow at my way, looking all smug and idiotic. In my eyes that is. In everyone's eyes, he's the epitome of sexiness but for me, he's the epitome of smug arrogance.

"Well, I certainly didn't know that you work here, Blakey." He said, teasing evident on his voice. His face was very smugly I just want to hit him and knock him down in the ground.

"I've been working here for 6 months already, you retard." I hissed lowly so Coleen wouldn't hear. Ugh, this boy and his antics of making my blood boil.

"Retard?" He retorted incredulously, face looking hurt. "My GPA doesn't tell me that I'm a retard. Only you would've told me that!" He fake gasped while holding his chest for the drama. The jackass.

"Dave?" Coleen asked worryingly. "Are you alright?"

The bastard immediately flashed a light grin on his face and gently landed Coleen with her feet on the ground. "Yeah, now why won't you wait for me in the car, Coleen? We'll go home immediately. I'll just talk to Blakey here, alright?"

"Alright!" Coleen exclaimed cheerfully, skipping her way to Daevon's car.

The both of us watched her while she's skipping her way towards the car that's parked near the center. When she was out of hearing range, I turned to eye Daevon with one of my deadliest expressions ever. I crossed my arms over my chest and tapped my foot on the ground, raising my eyebrow at him. "Well? Why are you still here?"

"Are you having PMS? Because I swear I think you do." Daevon said, mirroring my moves.

"That is obviously none of your business, Kingley." I hissed dangerously. "Now, get lost."

"Ouch. I thought we're friends?" I think I saw something that flashed in his eyes, but he rolled it immediately and feigned mock hurt in front of me. Now, what was that flash?

"I don't spy friends first thing in the morning not like you do." I spat, scowling. "I don't do those things to friends, Daevon."

Daevon's frame tensed as well as his jaw. I noticed his expression changed from carefree to fully guard. Why? What's up? Maybe he thought that I wouldn't know he was spying at me just this morning? Well, I'm not stupid and I hate people following me around and he seemed just like stalker! Maybe he's plotting for my death? He was thinking of something to answer me because his mouth was opening and closing then opening and closing again. It's as though he was nervous.

I wanted to laugh.

"I was only wondering this morning if I could walk you to your class. But then Nicol seemed to hit it first so I backed out. I'm trying to civilize here, Creston." My last name rolled out of his tongue like he was disgusted about it. His grey eyes became cloudy and occupied by an expression which most likely looked like…hurt? Offended? But it just flickered away and was replaced with annoyance and disgust.

"If that's how you describe being civilized then there is something wrong with how you describe being stupid and being civilized." I said coolly, leaning my body on the door frame of the Day Care center. "I didn't even beg you to be my friend and to be civilized so why do you care? I don't really care about you and I didn't ask you to be my friend, Kingley."

"Sometimes, I wonder why I even try hard to be friends with you when you're just some angst filled girl who won't trust anyone around her. I would wonder how Daniel and Nicol put it up with you. And most of all, I wonder why do you have to be like this when I'm around? Are you really the grudge holding type of person? I just want to be friends and nothing else. At least put a little trust to people who try to go through that stupid ice barricade you held all over you. I just want us to be nice and plainly friends." Daevon retorted, hurt, annoyance and anger evident on his tone. I opened my mouth for a full retort but he cut me by saying, "I remembered I told you I am sorry, right? Is that not even enough? You're such a hypocrite. Don't worry! I would fuck off; I don't want to be civilized with you anymore. The things I tried are all bullshit. I'm now regretting that I wanted to be friends with you because I thought you could be nice just like what your brother told me. Boohoo to me for trying hard because you always shut me down."

Now, that clearly surprised me.

He turned around and stomped away from me and towards his car, his frame going far away from me and the center. The darkness was now winning and the sun's light rays are disappearing, the night occupying the sky fully. I watched him start the car and speed away without even glancing back at me.

I suddenly didn't want to go to the carnival. Have I really been that bad at him? I mean, it's true. I didn't beg for him to be friends with me so why does he care?

Now that I remembered, I didn't have a ride. Daniel dropped me here just this afternoon and I forgot my phone back at home.

Can this day get any worse than it is?

Theme song of the chapter would be:

Hey girl you know you drive me crazy.

One look put's the rhythm in my hand.

Still I'll never understand why you hang around

I see what's going down.
