The Beautiful Days

To all the beautiful days

I spent with you.

To all the hugs, and "I love you's"

I remember the porch days, where we'd sit

And you would tell me stories of when you were young.

Do you remember those days?

You probably don't. I love you still,

And I forgive you.

I remember when you would set out paint

And brushes

And seashells

And juice

And 3-year old cake that you pulled from the freezer

That I made for you.

I would sit there for hours in your cozy house,

Painting shells, and making my home.

I'm older now,

And so are you.

And although you may not remember those days…

I will,

And I will keep them locked forever

In my heart.
