Chapter 2 (November 2nd, 2010)

Anmol is angry again. I can tell he is by the way his eyebrows have drawn together in the centre of his forehead.

I ask him, "What?"

Borderline belligerent. Because I know I'm guilty and he knows it too.

He raises an eyebrow at me, so I relent. "Sorry," I mutter.

"What was that?" he asks politely.

I sigh because I'm not even surprised that he's prolonging my misery. He likes to extend my rare moments of humility for as long as possible.

"I'm sorry," I snap, louder this time. "I'm sorry I went to the club without you."

"Did you have fun there?" he asks mockingly.

No, I didn't, but that was because I'd forgotten my ID and the bartender wasn't sure if I was legal. Anmol didn't figure into the equation. But I tell him that no, I didn't, just to make him happy.

"See what happens when I'm not around?" he says. I don't bother replying because it's not a question, it's an obvious threat. Still, I'm incensed, though I want to laugh at him. The joke is that he's being absolutely serious.

I nod my head yes but it's a farce. I'm going back to the club tonight, sans Anmol.

This time, I'll take my ID.

The bartender will not have a choice.
