My deepest fear

This title was chosen because of its intriguing nature. It pulls the reader in to learn the confession of the writer.

I am as light as a feather. I am the change in the weather.

I fly like a dove; it's simple I'm in love.

This stanza is the writer attempting to explain the feelings that are in you when you think you are in love.

A blushing smile rushes to my face, as if all sense had been replaced.

My heart becomes a drum whenever you draw near.

This stanza continues to describe the actions and feelings. It says that even being with you or talking with you brings me joy and happiness, which doesn't make sense to you. Whenever your lover is close to you or near you, your heart begins to race with anxiousness.

Is this my truest, deepest fear?

To be so weak in one man's presence, but dare not breathe his very essence.

You fear this feeling because it's unknown to you and it can be a bit overwhelming. You fear that you'll be weak and give into the confusion.

But, no it has now become like a crystal so clear, tis' not my truest deepest fear.

The hurt, rejection, the tears to follow.

The simple thought of hearts being hollow.

The realization dawns upon you as you realize that this is a natural and happy feeling and there is no reason to fear love itself, but the breaking of what you thought was love. And the thought of your love leaving you is what you fear.

Love is not to fear, not meant to shed a single tear.

Something to cherish, to hold dear.

Love is nothing, nothing to fear.

You then accept the reality of your fear and end the confusion of your fears toward the feeling of love.

So do I lock it up away, and hold it for another day?

Or keep it in those sturdy hands, to travel cross' these coarse lands?

You are again confused by a new feeling of dread and hope. You are unsure if you are to not take a risk of getting your heart broken, or to trust the other person with your heart.

I ask you but a simple favor, let this decision never waver.

So seal it with a kiss, and let me live in love's true bliss.

You don't want them to be unsure of their answer as it may result in heartbreak so you want it to be sealed with a form of close intimacy, and to just enjoy this amazing sensation of love.

Love is not to fear, not meant to shed a single tear.

Something to cherish, to hold dear.

Love is nothing, nothing to fear.

True love is hard to find.

But once it's found it's true and kind.

The absolute love of your life may be difficult to find but once you find him it will be utter happiness and no confusion.

Stay true to me and keep away from lust.

You are my love and hold my trust.

This stanza is very straightforward with it's message to stay true because you've given your heart and trust.

Handle it with care.

For it is a burden we both share.

They again remind you to be gentle and caring with them and to share the burden of staying true and having faith.

Love is not to fear, not meant to shed a single tear.

Something to cherish, to hold dear.

Love is nothing, nothing to fear.
