He woke up the next morning and groaned.

He didn't want to go to school, but at the same time he knew he had to because he had to talk to Tyra and get things straight with Brittany.

He was in love with Tyra...he could admit it to himself now!

Brittany...he never even liked her and still wondered why he ever said yes or agreed to anything they did.

The whole day was pretty awkward.

Brittany didn't remember a single thing when Brad, one of Eliseo's closest football buds, asked her.

All she remembered was that she was apparently on her way to a girlfriend's house and then she was just all of the sudden in her bedroom waking up the next morning.

"She doesn't remember a thing..." Brad whispered to Eliseo when the teacher wasn't looking.

"Oh, okay... thanks dude." he whispered back to his friend.

The bell rang and he got up.

Walking through the halls was weirder today for some reason.

Odd even.

He couldn't quite put his finger on the feeling.

He passed Tyra in the halls a few times and every single time he tried to talk to her, she walked away.

He didn't know what to do.

The day went by slowly, but when the final bell rang he decided to pick up his things in the locker room and try to go out the same way he did when he met Tyra.

He put his dirty football clothes in his bag and ran out of the locker room and walked around the school the the steps where Tyra was sitting when they met.

She wasn't there.

Eliseo frowned and walked to his car in the parking lot slowly.

He popped the trunk and put his smelly bookbag in the trunk to get the horrible smell, really just the reminder of his popularity compaired to Tyra's, far far away from himself and hopped in his car and drove home.

Two Whole Hours of Constantly Thinking Later

He re-thought his plan, but it was already too late.

He just knocked on her front door and his feet didn't seem like they were going to move on inch until they were told by someone other than himself to do so.

"Hello?" her mother answered.

He smiled nervously. "Umm, is Tyra home?"

She eyed him from head to toe. "Hold on."

She went inside, shutting the door in Eliseo's face, walked up the stairs and knocked on Tyra's bedroom door.

"Tyra," she smiled, opening the door and popping her head in without permission. "There's a boy at the door asking for you."

Tyra looked at her mom and tried to hide her feelings and just shook her head and turned away.

"You're not here then?" he mother asked.

Tyra nodded.

"Okay..." she walked over and kissed her daughter on the head. "If you want to talk about it-"

"No! Mom, please just- I really need to be alone right now, okay?" Tyra snapped.

Her mother nodded and ran back downstairs and opened the door.

"I don't know where she is...she was up in her room an hour ago, but she just isn't there now," she lied to Eliseo.

He nodded. "Okay." he sighed and started to walk away, but then turned around. "When you see her, can you tell her I stopped by?"

She nodded and forced a smile.

"Thanks," he forced a smiled himself and walked home.

He ran up to his room, refused to eat dinner, and stayed up all night just thinking about her.

He never got her phone number; he wondered if she had one.

He sighed and before he knew it, he fell asleep without actually wanting to.
