The characteristic black hair that spiked around his head in tufts reminded her so much of him. It couldn't possibly be him though, right? There could only be one way to know for sure. She pulled the fabric that was positioned at her neck, so that it masked her face much like a bandanna. The fabric rested easily across the bridge of her nose, and hung loosely down her face. To add more mystery to her appearance, she pulled the hood of her dark cloak over her eyes, shielding them from the prying eyes of the boy blindfolded and tied in front of her. She nodded at Violet to undo the blindfold. Angry green eyes opened, staring back at Alfie. She gasped and moved her head to shield her face, even though it was brilliantly masked. She knew those eyes.

The eyes that often looked down at her kindly. She looked back at them now, and no trace of kindness seemed to be in them now. He was livid, his eyes looking accusingly at Alfie, and she felt guiltier than she would like to admit. She wanted to hug him comfortingly and tell him exactly who she was, what she was doing, and why she was doing it. She couldn't though. She couldn't for a very selfish reason but she didn't want him to leave.

Not again.

That would hurt too much. So much infinitely more than the first time. She basked in his anger for a minute more, deciding that his anger was quite adorable before he interrupted her reveling.

"Where am I? What do you want from me?" His voice shook and Alfie realized he was frightened of her. She frowned behind the makeshift mask. That wasn't supposed to happen. His eyes were piercing and demanding, not like the way it used to be. His eyes used to be big and innocent. Alfie stopped reminiscing about the past as the question still hung in the air and his eyes demanded the questions be answered.

"Well, I haven't decided what you would do for me yet," she said, "and, apparently, you are in the afterlife."

A/N: Reuploading this chapter again. The first sentence was really troublesome so, here I am, fixing it. Uh, no, not all of the story will be this obnoxiously short. I didn't want any A/N for the first chapter, but I felt it was necessary. D:
