Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Subtle movements in her face

Eyes cast down and peering through lashes

A small smile painting her lips

A wave of emotion passing through her eyes.

Cheeks coloring up

Bright white teeth showing off

Eyes filled with mirth

Laugh so melodious.

Forehead scrunched

Eyebrows pointing down

A quiver in her lips

A heart full of sorrow.

All this she feels yet, she does not know,

That none of these can be seen by the third eye.

In the mirror she looks, every sunrise.

All at once, the beauty she felt, washes away.

In front of her stood,

The plain average Belle.

Dark frizzy hair,

Small bleak eyes,

Pale thin lips.

Averting her eyes, she swears to never look again.

Reality stinks.
