A few weeks later…
Hanna and Gabe have been together now for a little over than a month, and she was complete head over heels for him. Although Aaron still wasn't crazy about them being together, but he trusted his best friend to do what makes her happy. And he was just beginning to trust that Gabe wouldn't hurt her, which was, until he found her sitting on the ground, knees tucked to her chest, sobbing her eyes out.
He instantly dropped his things and ran to her side, wrapping her into a hug. She just wrapped her arms around him, and sobbed into his shoulder as he soothingly rubbed her back and whispered words of comfort into her ear.
She knew that she was safe in Aaron's strong, yet gentle arms. Knowing that he would always help her in her time of need, she lost it, sobbing uncontrollably, her whole body racking with sobs as she felt is grip on her tighten, and his warm, minty breath on her face as he whispered into her ear, as she sat on his lap, being rocked back and forth by him, almost like a baby.
"I-I'm s-s-sorry." She said in between sobs.
He shook his head and stroked her hair, "You don't have anything to be sorry for."
She felt herself calm down a bit at his soothing tone, but the sadness quickly turned into regret, or remorse, thinking at how stupid she had been.
"I'm an idiot; I should've known it was all a game." She whispered to him, her forehead now against his neck. She had puffy red eyes, the tip of her nose was red, and her cheeks had been stained with her tears.
"You're not an idiot or any tense of the word or its meaning. He's the idiot for hurting you. I can get the whole football team to beat him up if you want me to." He told her, giving her a sad, yet comforting, smile.
"You don't have to do that." She said, wrapping her arms around him, as he continued to stroke her hair.
"I really, really want to though." He told her, "And just so you know, I'll probably still pound his face in, even if you don't want me to."
Even though her heart was shattered, she managed to let out a little giggle and a small smile at his comment.
"There's that smile." He said, just smiling, seeing hers.
She rolled her eyes but, still couldn't help but smile; he was, after all, the greatest best friend ever.
"You're the most awesome person in the word." She told him, making him smile, and rest his chin on her head.
"I know." He replied without a second thought.
"You're so modest too." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes at him.
"Well, I mean, I must be pretty awesome, after all, you are my best friend. Which, by the way, makes you another awesome person." He stated, making her blush and smile again as she hugged him tighter.
"How about you go home and got cleaned up, and I can come over to your house, and we can hang out." Aaron suggested.
"Sure." She said, smiling. She got off of his lap and stood up, then helped him up.
Right when he stood up, Hanna wrapped her arms around his neck, giving him yet another hug, not that he was complaining though, he loved her… hugs, he loved her hugs. How was he kidding, he loved her, loves her. All the way from her long, wavy golden hair and baby blue eyes, to her heart. There wasn't a thing about her that he didn't love, he was crazy about her. Of course he would never tell her that, in fear that he would lose her by telling her his feelings about her.
Either way, he hugged her back, holding her for as long as he could before she pulled back. She didn't want to pull away, though. She felt so safe in his arms. Actually, just being in his presence made her feel safe, which, was something that Gabe never made her feel. Safe.
After about a minute went by with them hugging, she finally pulled away from his grip, very reluctantly though.
"I'll see you at my house. What time?" She said, her arms dropping to her sides.
"In about two hours. Is that alright?" He replied, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans.
"Yeah, that's fine. I'll see you then." She said with a smile, then turned around and walked out of the school, hopping on her bike and rode to her house.
In the school, Aaron went and picked up the books he dropped when he was Hanna crying, and went to his locker, and packed up. Although Hanna had never left his mind, she was all that he could think about right now. Well, her and pounding Gabe's face in for hurting Hanna.
Sighing in frustration, he flung his bag over his shoulder and slammed his locker shut, the loud bang echoing through the empty halls of the school. He shook his head, trying to forget about all of the different things he could do to hurt Gabe like he hurt Hanna. But there was that one thought that was making all of his thoughts about hurting Gabe fade away. It was the smile on Hanna's face, the one he gave her when she was broken, just a few minutes ago.
Sure Gabe broke her heart, but she would kill, no hate, Aaron, and he would most likely die if Hanna hated him. After all, she was his whole life; he loves her, even if she doesn't know it. He walked out of the school and hopped onto his bike, then rode to his house, waiting for the two hours to be up, so that he could see Hanna again.
Soon, the torturous two hours were up, as he read the text Hanna had sent him a moment ago.
Hi! You can come over anytime now (:
He smiled and slipped on his high tops, and grabbed his helmet before running out the door and riding his bike to her house. Once he was at her house, he dropped his bike and helmet on the front yard next to hers, and walked up to the front door, knocking on it.
Not even a second later, Hanna opened the door, a smile present on her face. He smiled back at her, seeing that she was much happier than she was two hours ago.
"Hey! Come in." She said, stepping aside, letting him walk into her house.
"I haven't been here in almost a month." He said, looking around the house, seeing that nothing had changed.
"Yeah, I know. It's been a little while since we've hug out." She said, a bit of regret in her voice.
After all, once she had begun to date Gabe, he took up all of her time, so that she couldn't see Aaron at all, except during class, since she and Aaron had every class together, and sat next to each other in every class, seeing as their assigned seats were next to each other.
"Don't worry about it though, because today, we are going to make up for that month of not hanging out." He said, his smile turning a bit devious, making her extremely nervous.
"What do you mean?" She asked, a bit hesitantly. He didn't respond, he just grabbed her and threw her over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" She shouted, hitting his back, although she couldn't stop laughing.
"Never!" He exclaimed, putting her onto her soft, tan couch, and putting his legs on either side of her, trapping her in place, and he began to tickle her.
She let out a scream, and was laughing like crazy, her face turning red.
"S-stop!" She laughed.
"Nope." He said, popping the 'p', smiled down at her. She continued to laugh and squirm around, trying to free herself, although she knew that it was impossible.
After a few minutes of tickle torture, he finally freed her, and she sat up, panting, just like she did last month when he tickled her because she stole the remote from him.
"You are an evil, evil person." She said; a smile still present on her red face.
"So I've been told." He replied, sitting next to her.
"So, what's next in our 'make up for a month' hang out?" She asked, leaning into his side.
"Movie marathon." He smiled.
She grinned, "What movies are we going to watch?"
"I think you mean; what movies aren't we going to watch." He replied, "I'll go pop some popcorn, you can pick the first movie."
He got up and walked into the kitchen, and began to make a lot of popcorn. Hanna got up and looked through her movie collection, and decided to watch Donnie Darko. After all, Jake Gyllenhaal was her celebrity crush after Jenson, Jared, and Misha. She set up the movie and sat down on the couch, watching the main menu of the movie, Donnie Darko, the director's cut.
A few minutes later, Aaron came back in with basically a tub of popcorn with M&Ms in them.
"If I die today, it's probably going to be because of all that popcorn." She said, with a smirk on her face.
"We'll die together from all of this popcorn then." He replied, sitting next to her, the popcorn on their laps.
Hanna then pressed play on the remote, and the movie began to play as they both took a handful of popcorn and M&Ms and began to eat, fully engulfed into the movie.
I lied. This isn't going to be just a two shot. I'm not sure how many chapters it will have, but it's going to be longer than a two-shot!
Anyways, thank you guys so much for the reviews!
