This month's prompt was: "The world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you." from Watership Down by Richard Adams.

My dearest Terra,

We've been together for a long time, you know.

Well, yes, I know you know. You probably know better than I do. I mean you made me who I am and I follow you around and you're always too polite to-

I digress.

What I wanted to say was...

"I respect you."

...but somehow that doesn't seem strong enough. I need obscenities! I need diagrams! I need a chorus and Broadway dancers for a balls to the wall musical number to show a fraction of what I feel when I see you each day! Shit, there aren't words to explain the magnitude of my attraction, er, passion for-

You know what? No more dancing around the subject.

I love you. I want to be with you forever and a day and I dare to dream you want the same thing. You're the strongest woman I've ever seen, the way you forge paths all the time and don't let the darkness in this universe get you down. The way you stare the shadows down and look past the dangers to get at a brighter future. It's just- Wow, baby. You taught me not to fear the faceless reapers, and even enjoy the thrill of just escaping their grasp. We've had some good times, haven't we? All my best memories were made with you.

The reason I wanted to tell you all this... Well...

Lately I feel like you've been pushing me away. We're drifting apart and I don't understand why. We've taken a lot of hits, you and I, but we've always had such an unshakeable bond. Hell, baby, I've been honored to take the pain life throws your way as many times as I could; I have the scars to prove it and I wear them with pride. I wish I could stand between you and all the shit sent your way. It kills me inside when I can't protect you; I think I'd spin off into oblivion if you weren't in my life.

I don't want this brilliant love to end. We're a story for the ages, you and I. Sometimes our enemies get close enough to hurt but it never brought you down before. Please come back to me, baby. Think as long as you want. I'll be here, waiting by your side for whenever you're ready to bring me back into your heart, as you're forever in mine.

Your beloved soul mate,
