Author's Note: Again, the plot bunny attacks! Normal Things is going to be a series based on doing well...normal things with everyone's favorite dark god. The horror. XD
We stared at each other warily, then glanced at the TV. "You're going to butcher this, aren't you," I asked. "Me? Why in the world would I do such a thing?" I cocked a brow and eyed him blankly. "Are you kidding me? You're the master of ruining stuff like this." He gave me a small frown. "I am not," he huffed. We were already off to a great start. I shook my head and walked over to the DVD player, sliding the disc into the tray. Let the games begin.
We parked ourselves on the sofa, a slight distance between us, though I knew by the end of the movie, we'd be glued to each others' side. "Just shut up and watch it, okay? I don't require your commentary." He glared at me and settled back in his seat, giving the TV screen a heated look that spelled certain doom if it screwed up and disappointed him too much. The movie began with me fast-forwarding through previews and other useless junk. I settled back and waited for the comments to start flying.
To his credit, he didn't launch into a tirade with the intro. He made it as far as the first loud, jump-inducing thump. He glanced over at me,"Is it all going to be cheap scare tactics?" I rolled my eyes and hissed at him, "Shut up and watch it, Luci." I heard him sigh and felt him fidget a bit on the sofa before he finally gave up and turned his attention back to the screen.
By the time we'd made it to the first real possession scene, I could tell he was frustrated. I debated pausing to let him rant, but decided against it. If I wanted to get through this night in one piece, it would be best not to give him an opening to vent his annoyance. Why had I thought this particular flick would be a good choice for our first movie night...?
When we got to the footprints in the powder on the floor, I could feel the irritation radiating off of him. It ran in warm waves down my spine. "Luci...you seem like you're about to kill something." He pressed those full lips into an agitated line. "This is ridiculous. A demon would hardly be this obvious. They know better." He started to grumble more comments as I decided to give up on this endeavor. The movie was coming to a close, but if I let it play out, my TV would probably perish.
I hit pause on the remote and leaned into his side. "We don't have finish it if it's pissing you off this badly. I know it's unrealistic. I just thought we'd have a giggle over it." He sighed again and leaned his head against mine. "Thank you, love. This is driving me absolutely mental." I grinned, "You were mental to begin with." He gave an amused snort, "Fine, more mental."
I tucked myself further into his side. "You're such a buzz-kill." He turned toward me, cocking a brow and poking his tongue out in an uncharacteristic display of childishness. "You shut it. You know you love me regardless." I couldn't argue that point, so I didn't even bother trying. He suddenly leaned over me, fishing for the remote and hitting resume. "Eh? I thought you didn't want to finish?" He have me a wicked little smile. "I never said we would be paying attention to it." Oh, dear... Surely that comment didn't bode well.
He grabbed me up and hoisted me into his lap so that I sat straddling his hips. I wiggled a bit and blinked down at him. "What are you up to, Lucifer?" He just smiled and hooked his finger into the collar of my shirt, dragging me down to meet him. His lips ghosted over mine, and I forgot how to breathe for a moment. "Mmm, you're distracting me, you know," I whispered against his lips. "Distracting you from what? Your train-wreck of a 'horror' film?" I thought about it for a moment before realizing that that was exactly what I had been talking about. "Yea, I was watching that." He smirked and ran a forked tongue over my lower lip, "Now you are watching me." Fair enough.
This time, his mouth sealed fully over mine, completely stealing my breath away. That wicked tongue was sliding between my lips, tracing my teeth for a moment before it curled around my own tongue. I slid my hands into that luxurious dark hair and held him to me. He broke off the kiss unexpectedly and pulled me down further so that my face rested in the crook of his neck.
I whimpered, "Are you seriously stopping?" I felt his chuckle vibrate along my body. "As a matter of fact, yes." I lifted my head and gave him a bewildered stare. "Oh, my god. You really are a buzz-kill," I pouted. "Hmm. I suppose so. It serves you right for making me watch something so atrocious." Ugh. Really? He was cutting me off because I picked a bad movie? This sucked. "Fine, next time you pick, jerk." "Gladly, love," he replied before pulling me back down to rest on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close. Okay, maybe this wasn't so bad. Every time he had showed up in the past, it had always lead to sex. I could get used to this cuddling thing.
"Luci?" He hummed at me, "Yes, love?" "Can we do this again sometime?" He chuckled again. "I assumed stating I would pick the next movie would have answered that question." I rolled my eyes. Of course he couldn't just answer. He had to be a smart-ass. Whatever, at least he said we could do it again. "Will you stay until I fall asleep?" He rubbed his cheek against the top of my head. "How about I stay until you wake?" I smiled against his neck. "Sounds wonderful."
Oh, yea. I could definitely get used to this.
AN: I'll give you a cookie if you know what movie I was talking about. :D
