I want to learn

Your body,

Its weaknesses and its strengths,

Its pitfalls and its mountains;

Its shapes and spaces.

I want to trace lines between your freckles,

Connecting the dots,

I want to find each scar

And learn every story

That goes with it.

I want to know you,

By scent,

By touch,

By sound.

I want to learn the way you move,

In happiness,

In pain,

In ecstasy.

And I want,

For once,

To not realize the improbability

That I will ever know you at all.
