Cascading like a dance I race
My heart just melts into that place
Where I can dream and listen to the sounds
Of brooks and birds in the distance so far
So far and to the crisp mountains edges fades
I hear the night as it comes sliding in to me
Knowing nothing can be the same again
Reaching out with dying hands I plead and wait
Waiting for the time when this will all right itself
That there will always be this place where I go
When all is lost there is a fading from the light
Where no one can hear the cries and prayers
So many lying there looking up instead of in
There is no light beyond that which the shadows go
Only that light from which I deny myself
Every tragedy an unspeakable gift of purpose
Yet all I can see is the candle flickering...
