ஜ۩۞۩ஜChapter 1ஜ۩۞۩ஜ

She watched the twins spar with each other on horseback. The wooden swords making a dull thunk with each hit. Unlike younger children who only played when it came to wooden swords, Austin and Justin looked completely serious as though they where real.

Lilly Elizabeth Stream was 13 years old her mother was sort of important a person on the island. Isabel Silver Stream had many titles on the five islands, the main ones being Second in Command, General, Balance of Ice, and the most important Water Elemental. Mother and daughter shared a lot of things, including looks. Both dark-skinned, black hair, and sapphire blue eyes. The only differences were that Lilly's hair was long where as Isabel's was boyishly short. Also Lilly had a thing for wearing pink, Isabel preferred blue.

Austin Alexander Blaze and Justin Zachary Blaze where the opposites of coins. Austin with his mothers amber eyes, and Justin with their mother's dark hair. They hadn't ever seen their father before but they assumed that Austin's red-brown hair, and Justin's silver eyes came from him. Temperance Phoenix Blaze was the most powerful woman on the island. Leader of the five islands, Balance of Ash, and the Fire Elemental. The boys had seen her set entire cities ablaze with a thought.

At the moment the boys where trying to knock each other off their horse. Austin's male black forest horse Lightning, a big beautiful black with white mane and tail, reared and struck with his front legs making Thunder ,Justin's grey Ardennes with dark mane and tail, back up and give Austin room for more defense. Justin took Thunder in close with a barrel turn around Lighting's tail just as he was coming down and swung at Austin's shoulder.

Lilly doodled in her journal as she watched them

Blaze+Stream 4 ever

She looked up at the boys again and then wrote

Lilly Stream Blaze

She sighed and closed the diary and looked around at the sandy clearing in the middle of the dense jungle terrain. The sand was hard packed and easy for the horses to move on. Around the edges was an old stick fence only tall enough to keep the little ones from running in. The main road was out of sight here but the well-worn path lead straight to it. The main road went through the middle of the main island.

A loud "THUNK" of wood on flesh and saw Austin go down using the force of the impact he rolled to his feet and charge his still mounted brother. Thunder startled by this and ran forward, Justin wasn't ready for that and went over the animal's back doing a flip as he went so that he would land on his feet. Austin didn't wait and attacked, Justin was on guard but couldn't block all the amber eyed twin's jabs, cuts, and swings. He raised to block a down swing, but Austin had faked it and got close, then slammed the hilt of his weapon into the dark-haired twin's knocked the wind out of him and he went down.

They stayed like that panting, Justin laying on his back, Austin standing over him, the wooden sword's tip over the silver eyed twin's heart. Justin laughed first and then Austin joined in. He tossed the sword away and offered his hand to help his brother up. Justin took it and pulled himself up. They laughed and talked about the styles and moves the other used as they walked to retrieve their mounts.

ஜ۩۞۩ஜ A Day in the Life of the Islanders ஜ۩۞۩ஜ

Lilly untied River, a female blue roan Gypsy Vanner, from the post by the gate of the arena. She easily swung into her, light leather and pink seat, saddle. The twins had remounted and trotted over to her. Both the horses and boys were sweaty and breathing heavily. She smiled and said "Lets get home, you need to clean up before we get to class." They nodded and all of them cantered down the main road to the village.

It was simply set up a half circle around the pin for the horses. The largest building was a brick and served as the town hall. The building on the right of it was the grocery store. The one on the left was the Post Office. It continued on with all the government buildings and stores. They rode through without paying too much attention and took the east road all the way to the beach.

The island was different from the one they stood on now. It was a temperate deciduous forest and was home to a large pack of wolves, herds of red deer and lots of unknown creatures. Without hesitation the horses walked into the water towards the island. About an inch or so below the surface of the water was a bridge to connect the two islands. It was at least nine feet wide and long enough to reach the island fifty feet away. The island's name was Ember island. It was the home of the Blaze's.

The horses walked all the way through the water and soon got to the beach of Ember Island. The sun was barely over the horizon when they got to the dry land. Finding the paths to the Ember village was tricky with all the game trails weaving in and out of the trees. Practice and years of playing in these woods kept them from getting lost. Some of the trees had been there as long as the island towering over 100 feet in the air. As they rode by one such tree a tall red deer buck stood on one of the roots, standing there above them he was magnificent. The village was small, little more than a couple of houses and a stable, the Blaze house wasn't in the village, it was hidden in the trees behind it. It was small and built into the side of a very steep cliff. They walked in leaving the horses in the barn a rock's throw away from the building.
