Hey guys, it's Birdy. Lately I have been taking a creative stall on my Fiera the Rogue story because my mind is going faster than my pencil right now and I keep wanting to change everything so it won't really "get started" until I slow down and plan it out better.

But I have been working on a new comic (I'm the artist of my school) called Cody, I think it's pretty interesting so far. I adore the storyline and everything and my friends do too so hopefully you will as well!

I will try really hard to translate the comic into words but it gives me a good template. So if it's not that good I really am trying but you can go ahead and criticize as much as your heart desires~

Chapter One - The Lice

"YOU'RE GOING TO CUT MY HAIR?!" I yell as my mother gets out the scissors. She nods.

"Why?!" I ask, heart pounding.

She looks at me sadly. "Delly, please don't be difficult. I do not want my daughter to go bald at age 13 so this is the closest I can get. You don't want to have those icky bugs crawling around your scalp, do you? It will be easier to comb it out this way," she says in her thick British accent.

Well when she puts it like that...

"But-but I read in a book, during the Holocaust, when children had lice they would hand them upside down and whack them with a-"

"You know we can't do that. Remember, this is 1995, not 1945. Now sit down."

"But-"

"Sit down, Cordelia."

When she uses my full first name, that's when I have to obey. I reluctantly sit down in the wooden chair on the balcony in front of our tiny apartment, blue eyes flooding with tears. Oh, what would Claira say? She'll never shut up. And what about cousin Will? He'll keep up with calling me Cody now that I'll look like a boy. I bet during P.E. they'll separate us one day into boys and girls and they'll accidentally put me with the boys and I'll have to shower with them and-

CLIP!

I didn't even know Mom was behind me. I stand up and, whirling around, watch as my beautiful brown hair falls down, down, down to the sidewalk.

"Honey," Mom says gently. "Would you like to see yourself?". She holds up a mirror. I look away.

I get the feeling this is going to be a nightmare.

It's a bit short, but it's enough to get you started. Think of it as your preview.
