I'm working hard on Cody (my other story, if you're a new reader) right now, but I haven't been uploading lately, and I apologize for that.
But in the meantime, like I always say, my brain moves extremely quickly, so whenever I'm daydreaming I start immediately at the climax and all that for some reason, and they're usually really good ideas, but my brain is too quick to think it through and actually make something out of them.
So I'll just start this, right here, what you're reading, as a sort of scribbling space. And who knows? Some of these drabbles might even become actual stories.
So...yeah! I'll leave you to it!
Feel free to review if you want.
Drabble One - "The Snow Girl"
Story - A model moves to Alaska with a friend of her family's son to live in the quiet for a while after the paparazzi discover something about her past, so she's there to wait it out and wait for the tabloids to calm down. But what happens when she actually begins to fall for the guy she has to stay with? Will she be able to protect him from the paparazzi? Right now they're camping out in the wilderness.
(A/N - by the way, I just really love that word, "protect." I have no idea why but it is just so nice and sweet to me. Okay back to drabble.)
I huddled into the gigantic jacket as we trudged through the snow for a good camping spot. He insisted we did this, just go camping for a while, and I, like the idiot I am, agreed to it. What was I thinking? This was nothing like the warm, sunny beaches of California. Here in Alaska, bonfires aren't just for ghost stories and s'mores, but for actual survival.
But there was something about him that convinced me I would enjoy it, so I went.
"I think this is a good spot," he said finally, stopping in his tracks. I nearly bumped into him.
"Why don't we just camp out by the river?" I asked, furrowing my brow. He smirked. Not in a mean, mocking way. But in an oh-that's-adorable-sweetheart-but-it-doesn't-work-that-way kind of way.
"Bears," he replied simply, and pulled a mallet out of the heavy pack I didn't realize he was holding.
"What about them?" I asked nervously. There are bears here? Where?
"They go to drink around the rivers. It could get nasty if you come across a mother and her cubs," he warned. I let out a small shriek. He looked at me, a playful grin on his face. Why is he smiling? This is serious. I am developing a fear of mother bears.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you," he reassured me as he hammered a nail for the tent into the cold, snowy soil. (A/N - Again with that word!)
"You're getting the water, is all I'm saying," I smiled a little bit, feeling a little safer. He hammered another nail. "I'm also getting the firewood, hunting for food, what will you do, princess?" he joked.
"I'll go with you for the hunting. Do any edible plants grow around here?" I contributed.
He nodded. "There are some berries. There's a book that lists all the edible plants if you look in the pack. But watch out for the Devil's Club. It'll make your hand swell like a balloon."
"Devil's Club?" I inquired.
"It's in there too."
"Splendid," I said, scouring through the pack as he hammered the last nail in. He adjusted the tent a little. "Looks good, huh?" he boasted.
"Yep," I replied, pulling out the book.
