It has been two years. Two years of watching her grow and mature in so many ways. She's so very beautiful. It has gotten to the point now where I can't stand to be away from her. All this time, and she has no idea who I am or how I feel about her. I need to…I have to change that. She's seventeen now, almost eighteen. This is a perfect time for her to meet me and possibly…hopefully, fall in love with me, too. I can make that happen. I'll treat her like the princess she is; she couldn't possibly resist me.

Of course, the only problem is that she doesn't know me. She wouldn't want to be near me. It's possible that knowing that I've been watching her for so long in secret would scare her. She'd run from me. I can't have that. I need her. I need to be with her. But how can I? How can I tell her how I feel while assuring that she won't leave me?

Well, of course. The answer is so obvious. I know what I have to do. As much as it would scare her, I know that we'd be together without the possibility of her leaving me. I have no other choice. She has to be mine and no one else's. It must be done as soon as possible. As soon as possible. This weekend. I have to get to work.

Soon, my dear one, we'll be together. I'll come for you, and I'll make you mine. Just wait a little longer. You'll be mine soon enough.

The final bell rang out at Miami Palmetto Senior High School in Miami, Florida. Moments later, the halls were filled with teenagers relieved that the day was finally over and the weekend had started. Some students wasted no time leaving campus while others took their time whether to talk to friends or wasting time before a club or sports meeting.

Among those who were taking their time was Sonya Battle, a senior and captain of the swim team, and seeing as there was swim practice today, she had to stick around. She was seventeen going on eighteen and well on her way to receiving a swimming scholarship to one of the best schools in the country, Stanford University. Knowing this, saying she was much focused and slightly unapproachable was a bit of an understatement. Still, she wasn't as standoffish as people who didn't know her thought, but her serious demeanor gave off that vibe. Of course, this was only in school. Outside of school, Sonya was just as lively and fun to be around as the next person. It was hard not to be with the type of family and friends that she had. Then again, not very many people knew that, and she was quite okay with it.

Sonya stopped by her locker to put the books from her last class away before heading for the gym.

Upon entering the gym, she headed for the girls' locker room to change into her swimsuit. The locker room was filled with the other female swim team members either changing or just hanging around and chatting with one another during the few minutes before their meet started.

As she passed them on her trek to her locker, her teammates waved and said hi to her. Sonya smiled in response as she reached her locker.

"Sonya," a blonde girl called. Sonya looked back as she pulled her locker open. "Have you heard from Stanford yet?"

"No," Sonya shook her head. "Not yet. Hopefully I hear from them soon." She undressed and pulled her swimsuit on, adjusting it before putting her clothes into her locker and closing it after grabbing her head cap.

She walked over to the group and joined their conversation for a few moments before heading out of the locker room. She wrapped her hair up and put the cap on as she approached the pool.

Some of the guys were waiting and hanging out by the pool talking amongst themselves.

Sonya did a few stretches as the girls and the rest of the guys came out. A minute later the swim coach did as well.

A whistle sound reverberated off the walls. "Okay team, positions."

Sonya and the other members got into position by the pool. At the second whistle, they all pushed off the edge with their feet and dove into the water.

Every time she swam, Sonya felt something take over her. She loved swimming, ever since she was little. Her body's response was to go as fast as possible, making her destination the other end of the pool.

It was almost as if she was on autopilot. Everything was second nature to her.

She reached the other side of the pool in no time, diving under the water to turn around and push herself back the other way with her feet.

All too soon she was resurfacing by her coach and the members that hadn't gotten into the pool yet. She hoisted herself out of the pool and was handed a towel.

"First again, Battle. Good job!" her coach said. Sonya nodded as she dried her face, smiling at her teammates as they commented on her skills.

She set the towel down and waited to go again.

Once practice was over, Sonya showered and dressed so she could head home. She was hoping to have a letter from Stanford and a large banner and cake that both read 'Congrats Sonya!' waiting for her once she got there. Her mother was dramatic like that. Sometimes it was a bit much, but she would gladly welcome that for this occasion.

She received some goodbyes from her teammates as she left, and she responded with a simple smile and wave. She exited the locker room and spotted the coach across the hall talking to who she guessed was a student who wanted to join next year. She considered interrupting them just to tell her goodbye but decided against it. Instead, she kept walking, heading toward the exit. Before she could make, she heard her name from behind, and she turned around to see her coach coming toward her.

"Glad I caught you. I wanted to run something by you," her coach spoke once she was close enough.

"Ok."

"Well, first, any news?"

Sonya shook her head. "Not yet, but it's getting around the time for notifications. Maybe in the next few days," she told her, inwardly hoping that would be the case.

"Oh." Her coach smiled. "Well, I wouldn't worry about it. You're a shoe end to get in."

Sonya smiled. "So, what did you want to run by me?"

"Well, you know a new captain has to be chosen since you'll be leaving most of us in a few months. Just wanted to know if you had any suggestions?"

Sonya remained silent in thought. There were a few people that would probably do a good job, but if she had to choose the best… "I think either Marcus or April could do it. I'm sure they've been waiting for me to graduate anyway so they could go for it." She smiled lightly.

Her coach chuckled. "I was thinking about them, too. It's good we're on the same page. Well, now, I don't want to hold you up any longer. I'll see you Monday." She gave her a smile before beginning to walk away.

"Bye." With that, Sonya continued to the exit and was out the door moments later.

Sonya pulled into the driveway of her home, noticing that one of her parents' cars was gone. She pulled up beside the one still there and parked before cutting the engine. She unbuckled her seatbelt before grabbing her phone from the passenger seat and her keys from the ignition, all the while hoping that one of her parents was home and starting on dinner because swimming always made her very hungry. Just when she was about to open the door, her cell phone rang in her hand, displaying her mother's name and number.

She answered. "Hey," she said simply.

"Hi, baby," greeted her mother on the other end. "Are you home?"

"Yeah, I just pulled in the driveway. Are you home?"

"No, me and your dad went out for a little bit. I was calling to let you know, so if you don't want to wait on us to get back to start dinner…"

Sonya sighed. "As much as I would prefer your cooking, I don't think I can wait. You know, swimming…"

Her mother laughed. "Uh huh, well, go ahead. We'll be back in about an hour or so, I think. See you then, alright?"

"Alright, bye."

With that, they ended the call and Sonya exited her car. She shut the door and used the remote to lock it as she walked down her driveway toward her mailbox. She stuffed her phone deep into her back pocket just as she reached the mailbox, and she pulled open the door to find a few envelopes.

"Doesn't look like I got any word from Stanford yet," she mused lightly to herself as she pulled them out and closing the door. She flipped through the envelopes and discovered that she was correct. With a roll of her eyes, she began to walk back up the driveway.

During her viewing of the mail, though, she didn't notice a person approaching from the sidewalk, and she still wouldn't have noticed until her name was called.

"Sonya," the person said with a clear Hispanic accent.

Sonya paused near the end of her driveway when she heard her name called, and she turned to see a man standing a few feet away. She eyed him closely, recognizing that he lived a few houses down from her, but she had never talked to him before. She shifted, inconspicuously taking a step away from him and toward her house. "Um, yeah?" she spoke cautiously.

The man stepped forward, a light smile on his face. "Hi, Sonya, my name is Antonio Santiago. I live down in 1002," he spoke.

Sonya simply nodded, not knowing why he was there.

"I've stopped by to see if either of your parents was home," he told her.

Sonya felt herself breathe a little easier at hearing that. So he knew her parents. She glanced back towards the house before shaking her head. "No, they both went out for a little while. They should be back soon if you want to come back. Maybe an hour?" she explained.

Antonio smiled and nodded. He couldn't help but give her a slow once over afterwards. 'Look at how gorgeous she is. Her long, wet hair, her lovely body, how filled out she's become… Standing this close to her without being able to touch her is torture. Of course, I won't have to wait long to touch her. Just another moment and she'll be mine.'

Sonya noticed his staring and was a bit unnerved. She took another step back, this one more obvious. "Ok, well…bye," she said before turning to go inside.

Antonio took another step forward. "Actually, Sonya, there's one more thing," he said, succeeding in stopping her in her tracks.

Sonya closed her eyes and let out a nervous breath before turning around to face him once more. "Okay?"

"The thing is," he started, putting his hands behind his back, "I only wanted to know if your parents were home because I came here…for you."

By the time he finished his sentence, a black SUV with dark tinted windows pulled up beside the curb behind him.

Sonya's eyes widened, and, without waiting to see just who or what was in the vehicle, she turned and began to run toward her house, throwing down the mail as she went.

The moment she began to run, both back doors of the SUV flew open and two men got out and ran after her. Meanwhile, Antonio stood where he was for a moment before turning and walking to the SUV, lifting one of the backseats and climbing in to the last row of seats.

Sonya heard footsteps behind her and her heart jumped to her throat. She made it to her front door and fumbled with her keys for just a moment before shoving the house key into the lock and unlocking the door, her heart pounding heavily. She threw the door open and made it a few steps inside before a pair of hands was suddenly on her. She screamed and instantly began to struggle for freedom.

One of the men had made to Sonya before the other and struggled to get a good hold on her for the other guy. The second man ran into the house with the other two just as Sonya's struggling had caused the first man to hit the wall and knock down a picture. The second guy went to grab Sonya but was met with her feet from her kicking.

Sonya screamed as loudly as she could, hoping someone nearby would hear and come help, as she continued to put up a fight. Her heart dropped when the guy that had just come in grabbed both her legs and the first guy wrapped both his arms around hers, pinning her to his chest. She continued to struggle as she watched the second pull a cloth from his pocket and move it toward her face. Her eyes widened and she tried with all her might to kick him, but the guy holding her turned her so her legs were facing away from the other guy.

Suddenly, the cloth covered her mouth and nose. Being in her panicked state, she didn't think to hold her breath, and she breathed in. It was only moments before she could feel drowsiness coming over her. She couldn't struggle as much anymore, things were becoming blurry, and she was losing consciousness fast. She tried to keep her eyes open, but to no avail. Blackness.

The man holding the cloth pulled it away the moment Sonya went limp in the other man's arms. He then stuffed the cloth back in his pocket before turning and heading out. The man holding Sonya shifted her until he was able to lift her bridal style and he carried her out of the house towards the SUV, following the other man.

Both men made it to the vehicle, one getting in while the other carefully maneuvered so he could put Sonya in the very back with Antonio. Once she was in, he stepped back, put his seat down, and climbed in himself.

Soon, they were on the highway.

In the back of the SUV, Antonio gazed down lovingly at Sonya. He lightly stroked her cheek with his finger as she was lying down in the seat with her head in his lap. 'I apologize for doing this to you, sweetheart, but I had to make you mine. I'll keep you safe, darling, while keeping you with me and only me. You'll understand soon enough.'

After fifteen minutes of driving, the SUV pulled onto a narrow dirt road with a street sign that read 'Private'. The narrow road soon led to a clearing with a lone and seemingly abandoned airstrip with a small jet parked on it. There were also two men, the pilot and co-pilot, standing outside the plane beside the opened door.

The driver of the SUV pulled along the edge of the strip and parked before turning off the car. A moment later three men exited the car, soon followed by the fourth man carrying still unconscious Sonya, and Antonio. They all walked toward the jet, and boarded one after the other once they reached it.

"Tenga cuidado con ella," Antonio spoke to the man carrying Sonya, warning him to be careful with her as he began passing her up to one of the other men who were already on the jet. Once she was securely in the other man's arms, he climbed on, followed by Antonio, the pilot, and the co-pilot. Once they were on board, the co-pilot closed and locked the door.

Antonio instructed the man now holding Sonya to lay her down gently on the three-person seat in the very back before going to the back himself, lifting her upper body so he could sit and then resting her head in his lap. The pilot and co-pilot went to the cockpit while the other four men took their own individual seats.

"Vámonos," Antonio called to the pilot, signaling that it was time for them to go.

The plane then started up a moment later. It took only a couple minutes before the plane began rolling forward. Before long, the small jet was off the ground and gradually elevating.

Once they were in the air, Antonio couldn't help but smile as he knew that now virtually nothing would be able to stop him. He looked down at his slumbering Sonya and his smile widened.

Soon, my dear one, we'll be together. Just wait a little longer. You'll be mine soon enough.
