The school day finished up and Tyler was waiting at his locker for October to get her things together so that they can walk home together like they did every day. It wasn't long before Tyler saw her bouncing along down the hall but she wasn't alone. She was with that new guy though his name had escaped Tyler at the moment. "Hey, Ty! Me, you, and Skylar are all going to hang out!" October yelled from down the hall with a big smile on her face.
Tyler's eye twitched slightly and he quickly came up with an excuse so that he could bail out of whatever plans October was going to make them do. "Uhh…I can't though. I have a ton of homework to do tonight." It wasn't just that he didn't want to spend time with Skylar because the guy seemed like a jerk, there was also the fact that Tyler tried to avoid spending time with guys as much as possible due to obvious reasons. The only male friend that he had was Ben and he only spent time with the guy at school.
October rolled her eyes at Tyler's excuse. "You're such a liar! Come on, just hang out with us."
"I'm not lying. I really have a bunch of homework to do." Tyler said as he closed his locker and swung his bag over his shoulder.
"You're totally lying! I can see it in your pants!" October smirked and walked up beside Tyler, swinging an arm around his shoulder.
"Not only does that not make any sense at all…it's not even funny." Tyler stated, sighing.
"It makes all the sense in the world, my friend. Now come with us, pencil dick!" October nudged him in the side, laughing lightly.
"That's just mean." Tyler frowned. He definitely didn't have a pencil dick, In fact, he was quite sure that he was slightly bigger than average.
"The truth hurts, sir." October laughed some more.
Skylar was just standing there with his hands in his pockets, minding his own business, looking like he wasn't even paying attention to the conversation between October and Tyler.
"Then again…Maybe you'd know since you're such a slut." Tyler said just wanting to bother her.
"I am not a slut!" October frowned and crossed her arms across her chest.
"The truth hurts." Tyler smirked. He was quite proud of his comeback.
October pulled her arm from around Tyler and walked over to Skylar. Tyler had a feeling that the only reason that October was talking to Skylar was because she wanted to sleep with him. It was the look in her eyes when she spoke to him that was giving it away. It wasn't a friendly look at all…it was more lustful than anything else. "So, Skylar! Have you been to the mall since moving here?" She asked.
Skylar looked so bored as he stood there. It made Tyler wonder why the guy was even sticking around. "I don't go to malls." He stated bluntly, obviously not caring that he was being a jerk.
"Oh, alright then. Uhm…What kinds of places did you hang out at in the town you lived in before?" October asked, sounding a little sad that she couldn't drag them around the mall since it seemed to be her favourite thing to do with Tyler. Though with Tyler she never took no as an answer.
"I didn't really do anything. Didn't really have any friends to do stuff with. Mostly just stayed at home." Skylar stated, seemingly unfazed by how pathetic he sounded. Tyler couldn't help thinking that the reason this guy didn't have friends was because he barely even talked to people. He couldn't understand what October saw in him.
"Oh…I see…" October went quiet for a moment as she tried to think of something they could do that Skylar would actually enjoy doing, though she was having a hard time coming up with anything.
"So…am I allowed to go home and do my homework now?" Tyler decided to ask since it seemed like there weren't going to be any plans. Though, by homework he really meant that he was going to be playing video games. He had started playing Final Fantasy X recently and had really gotten into it.
"Hmm…okay! We'll join you~" October grinned. She knew he barely ever did his homework so that was definitely not what he was going to be doing when he got home which meant that they could just hang out at his place.
Tyler's face went blank. Was October crazy?! She knew that if he brought a guy home that his mother would try to get them together. Tyler hadn't even brought Ben home once for fear of it happening. "Toby, you know I can't have the both of you over." He said, hoping she would understand, though it was very unlikely.
"As if your mom'll care! And I bet she won't even try to hook you up with Skylar." October stated casually.
Tyler stared at October as she had blurted out the truth without a second thought. Sometimes he really couldn't stand her and today was definitely one of those times. "October! You're not supposed to tell people about my mom! You know I hate it!" Tyler scolded her.
"Wh-what?" October was a little dumbfounded at the moment. "But it's not like I told anyone that she sets you up on dates with guys because she wants you to be gay or anything like that!" She said, having forgotten that they were in the school halls. She was just trying to defend herself but ended up making the situation much worse. She then realized what she had said and her eyes went wide. "S-sorry, Tyler!" She looked at him with pleading eyes, hoping that he wouldn't get too angry at her.
Skylar burst out laughing. "Your mom wants you to be gay? That's hilarious!" He laughed some more.
"October…How could you?" Tyler glares at her for a moment and then began storming off down the hall towards the exit.
"Tyler! Wait! Please don't run off! I didn't mean to blab! I'm sorry! Skylar won't tell anyone!" October looked towards Skylar. "Right, Skylar?" She looked at him with pleading eyes.
Tyler stopped and turned around to look at Skylar, waiting to see what he would have to say. He had a feeling that Skylar wasn't going to keep his secret. All Skylar did though was shrug. Tyler wasn't sure what that meant though. Did that mean that he might tell someone? "You better not tell anyone, Skylar! If you do I'll-!"
Skylar interrupted Tyler midsentence. "Or you'll what? Kiss me? That's what your mommy would want, right?" He smirked.
Tyler gritted his teeth together. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. Had Skylar really said that? October knew what was coming now and knew that she couldn't stop Tyler as he made his way towards Skylar and quickly sent a fist towards his face, punching him right under the chin.
"What the fuck!" Skylar held his chin as he shouted out at Tyler.
"Don't you dare fucking talk about what my mom's like! I'm not gay so you better keep your mouth shut so that rumors don't start going around the school! Understand? If you do you'll regret it." Tyler narrowed his eyes as he warned Skylar.
"What the fuck ever! I wasn't even going to tell anyone in the first place, ya spaz!" Skylar shouted back.
October really couldn't stand the tension in the air so she tried to think of something quick that would change the mood. "Can you two please stop bickering? Why don't you just kiss and make up!" She said without thinking and then frowned as she realized that was only going to make things worse.
"That's it! I'm going home!" Tyler stormed off without another word. He could not deal with anymore bullshit or he was going to explode.
As Tyler got home he could see a car in the driveway. He let out a deep breath, trying to calm himself down before going inside. He had a feeling that his mother had some guy over for another date but hoped that she didn't because there was no way he could deal with that at the moment. He would probably tear the guy to shreds.
Tyler walked up the front steps and opened the front door. As he walked inside his mother perked up. "Sweetie, is that you?" She asked from the living room. That confirmed it. She definitely had some guy in there waiting with her.
"Uh huh. It's me." Tyler stated as he kicked off his shoes, trying to keep himself calm.
"Great! Shane is here with me in the living room! Come over and say hi." His mother said cheerfully.
Tyler made his way into the living room, hoping to blow things off right away so that he could go to his room for the rest of the night. As he stood in the door way he saw that his mom was sitting next to a woman that looked around her age and then sitting across from them was a boy that looked around his age. As Tyler took a better look at the guy he noticed that his name did not suit him at all. Shane sounded like the name of some sort of jock but this guy was so feminine. Well, either way it didn't matter. "Hey. Tyler sighed.
Shane gets up and smiles at Tyler, holding out his hand. "Hey." He says as they shake hands. He then sits back down on the couch. Ah, he was a quiet type. There was a chance that Tyler might be able to put up with him for a bit without attempting to fatally wound him.
Tyler glanced towards his mother and the woman beside her and let out a slight sigh. They both had such a hopeful look in their eyes. "I'll go get changed…" Tyler muttered before turning towards the stairs so he could change out of his uniform.
"Oh!" His mother spoke up before he could go up the stairs. "Me and Shane's mother are having a girl's night tonight so we won't be back until late, okay? I don't mind if you have Shane over after your date until we get back~" His mother winked at him.
Tyler's eye twitched a bit and he turned and went up to his room without another word as he didn't even have a response to what his mother had just said to him.
