Author: This is the second chapter, a littler shorter than the first one, but I am taking this story slow. Because going could easily allow my imagination to do crazy things, next thing would happen, pink dragons lol

"If you meet a woman of whatever complexion who sails her life with strength and grace and assurance, talk to her! And what you will find is that there has been a suffering, that at some time she has left herself for hanging dead."

Awaken Prt 2

Corra shifted, she winced when she felt a twinge opening her eyes, she squinted her eyes against the sun light. Slowly she came to a sitting position, the room she was in. Reminded her of movies like King Author, or was it Camelot as a whole.

Standing, she groaned when she felt certain muscles pull, walking over to the light that was coming from outside. She reached up to move the drapes aside; stepping passed them and onto the balcony.

She felt her heart stop, in front of her stretched an image that's place belonged in a medieval role playing game. Covering her mouth in fear that she may scream, she backed up.

She tried to gather her memory, she looked around the room. She searched for something that would give her a clue, dropping the blanket she'd been walking around with. She went to grab her pants, when someone knocked on the door.

Quickly she reached back down to pick up the blanket, a young man tall and lanky entered the room.

The boy seemed surprise to see her up, "Oh, mam you're awake master will be pleased."

Corra walked towards the boy, "Where is this, where am i?"

The boy surprisingly didn't seem flustered at her questions, "Mam you are in Carthage, the realm you humans call Hell. You were chosen as the brim for master."

He must be crazy, Corra shook her head, "What do you mean human world, there is only one world."

The boy gave her pitying look, "I'm sorry mam but you are wrong there are many realms, but do not fret you will return in 3 months."

Corra shook her head and grabbed his arm, "No, no I want to go home now!"

The boy seemed more flustered by her touching him, than what she was saying. He pulled back and bowed to her, "I will get Master he will set everything straight for madam."

He rushed out, leaving her in the room alone.

Not thirty minutes later a man entered the room, his tall frame seeming to take up the large door way before his closed it behind him.

Corra took a step back, her body reacting instantly. Surprised at herself, she tried to cover it by speaking, "I want to go home!"

The man stared at her, his blue eyes just flickered but remained dead, "Did you hear me, I would like you to send me home, and I can't – no, won't-stay here for three months."

Corra would have said more if he hadn't raised his hand silencing her, she was surprised when she couldn't keep talking, "You cannot return until after brim is over…you will stay and fulfill your duties, and then you will be sent home, understand?"

Corra found herself nodding, she jerked to stop she didn't feel that way at all.

She narrowed her eyes at him, "What are you doing, to be controlling me? I find myself agreeing when I do not agree."

He didn't say anything, and walked over to the fire place, taking a seat he motioned for to come over to him.

She wasn't going to move, but she found herself walking over to him and kneeling at his side.

Once she'd finish, she blinked up at him and glared, "You are controlling me, stop it!"

He stared into the fire and spoke again, "In this world you are merely a brim, something to help me retain my soul, and you are under a bond of wife brim. You will serve me as such, and you will do so quietly. The quicker you agree, the easier your life will be."

He met her eyes, his own carrying a dark weight. Corra felt herself falling; she shook her self out of it.

"Do you promise that after three months I will be returned home?"

He nodded, "Yes, during these months you are a required tool. Do not waist any emotion, just do the duties you are commanded to fulfill."

"And sex, is that required duty." Her eyes were narrowed too slits as she glared at him.

"Yes, to cleanse paksha it is the thing the brim, cleanses us of to keep the heritage from beserking."

She nodded and stood as if to leave his side, "Also, my name is Ashbell, but as my brim you will call me Master or Lord…Corra."

The woman nodded before walking away the blanket trailing behind her.

Corra couldn't panic…she knew to do so she would get herself in something crazier. How couldn't she believe the man after seeing the proof for herself, from the balcony, she wasn't going to do something stupid.

She had been given clothes by Natos, they reminded her of gowns she'd seen in films like Lord of the rings. Light and trailing, the gown showed her shoulders, and the belt at her waist was real silver. The maids had come and twisted her hair up into an intricate design.

She hadn't been able to recognize herself in the mirror, she looked like a fairy. Laughing at her own thoughts, she caused Natos to stop short in front of her.

He was leading her to the gardens, "Is something wrong Brim?"

She shook her and waved him own, he lead her through the marble hallways. Palace guards she assumed stood in the hallway in their impressive armor.

Servants rushed back and forth, cleaning and fetching. She found it all interesting, but scary that it was her current reality.

Finally arriving at the garden, Natos left her with a bow to his other duties. She wandered the garden; the weather was mild as the wind blew through the garden. Causing the smell of flowers to rise, she felt her tension fall away.

She was surprised when she heard music, she found herself staring at a band and a group of people who looked to be celebrating something.

Nato's hadn't told her there was a party going on in the garden. She tapped her foot to the cheery music; Irish music had always been one of her favorites.

Everyone in the center were dancing, while wearing mask, she tried to stay hidden behind the brush. But someone came from behind her, looking her up and down the person grabbed her hand.

Dragging her onto the floor, she tried to walk away, but the person insisted. She found herself being twirled and switching partners, without being able to catch her breathe.

Feeling a rush of happiness she started to turn and twirl on her own, she allowed herself to get lost in the moment.

Raising her skirt above her knees, she proceeded to kick out and stamp her feet on the ground, dancing around others.

The wind caught her skirt and caused it to flutter around her; she didn't realize that many of the other dancers had stopped.

The music continued, the release she'd been looking for seemed to be this moment.

She stopped when the last note was thrummed, breathing hard she realized no one else was dancing. Instantly she felt conscious, and shy, she quickly tried to make a getaway. Only for one of the masked dancers to grab her hand, she turned her eyes wide and fearful towards them jerking her hand out of theirs, she took off back to the place Natos had left her.

Natos saw the Brim girl running towards him, she seemed frighten he rushed towards her, "Mam, what has frightened you?"

The girl bent over trying to catch her breath, she straightened up and shook her head, "Nothing, nothing, let's get going."

Natos went along with her, but he did notice the bell bracelet she'd been wearing earlier had disappeared.
