Humans tend to hoard things.
This is not new.
Clutter,
and junk,
and useless knick-knacks.
But also priceless memories.
Things we don't want forgotten.
But why do we collect, really?
Is it so we don't forget?
Or for the deadly sins,
greed,
lust,
gluttony,
envy.
Is this at the base of every hoard?
Or are our intentions pure?
Is it animalistic instinct?
Or thoughts trailing dark circles?
Humanity will never change,
but perhaps it's reasons will.
