"Really? Wow, that's great! Give her my congratulations. No, I haven't forgotten, dinner tomorrow night at eight. Yeah, sure, I'll tell him the great news. Okay. Okay, bye. Hey, Leo, guess what."

Riveted to the movie playing on the TV, Leon impatiently waved Isaac off. He'd seen the film a thousand times before, but it was his absolute favorite, the type of movie you couldn't tear him away from. Besides, it was almost at the good part. Not sharing his enthusiasm for staring blankly at a screen, Isaac walked around the couch until he was blocking his view, his arms folded imperiously over his chest. In his left hand was his cell phone.

Leon growled and tried peering around him, but the other blond merely stepped to whichever side he leaned towards until he'd finally had enough.

"Move your ass!"

Even after nearly five years of being in the constant face of adversary, Isaac still held the patience of a saint. "Listen to me for one second and I'll let you go back to your movie. It's important."

"There's nothing more important than-"

"Veronica's pregnant."

Leon snapped his head up, dumbfounded. "Huh? You mean someone had the balls to fertilize her demon spawn? Who's the lucky sonovabitch?"

Isaac rolled his eyes, "Who do you think?"

"You?"

The unamused twitch in Isaac's eye only made Leon burst out into laughter. He wasn't that dumb, he knew who the father was. "I hope Darren's happy, then. He's gonna be an awesome dad." If by awesome one meant overbearing and strict, then yeah, he was totally first place for Dad of the Year.

As though reading his mind, or just used to Leon's well hidden sarcasm, Isaac pretended not to hear him. In his usual graceful way, he plopped down beside Leon, heavily, causing the couch to give a soft squeak. "There's something else you should know."

His movie experience unhindered, Leon gave a nonchalant hum and wrapped his arm around his boyfriend's shoulders, pulling him snuggly against his side. Welcoming the affection, Isaac leaned most of his bodyweight against him, his breath gentle against his neck.

"Veronica wants you to be the godfather."

Lean leaned his head back to peer down into content green eyes, his face contorted in confusion before losing himself to laughter. Godfather? Him? What a joke!

"Funny! Now shut up."

"It's not funny, I'm serious." Isaac sat back up, his glasses somewhat askew. With reverence, Leon readjusted the frames. "I don't understand it myself, but Veronica wants you in their child's life. If I wasn't already the kid's uncle, it would have been me. It's a great honor."

Leon stared at him, noting that he looked utterly serious. He didn't quite understand what a 'great honor' it was. What did he get out of it other than being forced into a pint-sized person's life? He could barely handle his own! If it weren't for Isaac, he'd probably be falling down drunk in a ditch somewhere. How was that good role model behavior? "Don't I have to agree to this? Oh, what am I saying." Frowning he fixed his attention on the screen. "That girl already makes life decisions for me. This is no different."

The other blond sighed at his less than enthusiastic reaction. What'd be expect him to do? Throw a party? "You should be thankful they want to include you. Having a child is a great gift-"

"You want a kid, then?" Leon asked nonchalantly.

Isaac noticeably fidgeted, drawing his attention. His eyes were down, focused on one of the couch's cushions. A deeper crease formed between Leon's brow at the behavior. He knew that Isaac was great with kids and always found his lap full of them when they attended social parties for his job. Not once had he ever outright said he wanted a little one of his own, but Leon had always wondered…

"I don't know," he muttered, "I like them, but having one of my own would be a hassle. And you-"

"What about me?"

"You don't like them."

Leon scoffed. Sure he thought they were loud, obnoxious, smelly, stupid, tiny, and breakable, but he didn't dislike them. "Babe, if you want a kid, we can get a kid." At that Isaac snapped his head up, his eyes comically wide. "Yeah, it'd probably be fun. Though you'd have to do the diaper thing. And the training thing. And the-"

Isaac hushed him with a finger to his lips, prompting a demure smile. "Thank you for trying to appease me, but the whole thing would be a disaster. Knowing you, you'd probably teach him or her how to cheat at pool."

"Family bonding time," Leon said with a wink.

"In any case, their kid will give us enough trouble." He leaned his head back on Leon's arm, his eyes closing. "And if we really wanted one, we would have to adopt. That'd be torture in itself."

Innocently, Leon tapped him in the middle of the forehead, "Why would we have to adopt?"

With his eyes still closed, Isaac answered, his tone dead obvious, "We're men. Neither of us can conceive, don't you remember? Or do I have to teach you basic anatomy again?"

"Can't conceive?" It was acrobatic, but Leon managed to hide his huge grin. He so loved teasing the other male. "I could so get you preggers if I wanted to."

"Oh I had no idea I had an uterus."

Honestly, Leon couldn't tell if he was getting angry or was just playing along by pretending to let his tone get louder. Just in case, he backed off, not needing his awesome evening ruined by their monthly shouting matches. They'd been pretty much on the same page since they officially became a couple, but like most couples, they still found themselves dissolving into squabbles, sometimes over important events and other times over stupid stuff. During their extended time together, Leon learned that Isaac could be uncomfortably sensitive to certain things, like his declining eyesight and the few extra pounds he had picked up (though Leon vehemently assured him that he wasn't fat, not even chubby), and now it seemed that he was learning that his lover got his panties in a twist over baby issues. It was another thing to add to the list of 'Never Mention These Words Again'.

The movie played on in the silence that passed between them, until Isaac shifted his head, his eyes open and brow finely knitted; his lips were contorted in a confused smile.

"What, no comeback?"

It took Leon only a second to see that his worry was all for naught, that Isaac had merely been in a playful mood. D'oh. Was he getting slow in his old age? He grinned back and pulled the other male close, their mouths inches apart. "You don't need one of those things," he assured in a soft voice, "I'm the ultimate baby making machine, don't you know? One night with me and pop, we have ourselves a child." His eyebrows flirtingly wiggled up and down.

Isaac stared into his eyes, his cheeks warm at the proximity, "I've been with you for almost five years now. Why haven't I conceived yet, then?"

"Simple. I wasn't trying hard enough."

"But you want to try now?"

"Mhm. And I promise, our baby is gonna be better than Veronica's."

The moment was almost ruined by Isaac's break in character, but Leon couldn't help but find his laugh immensely attractive. His stomach warming with affection, he wrapped a hand about the back of the other's neck and brought him closer, their lips meeting in a chaste kiss. He didn't know what he wanted from it, but he sure wasn't complaining at the way Isaac immediately leaned into it, a soft, happy moan bubbling from his throat. And it was all he wanted, for Isaac to be happy. He still couldn't say those three words, but he certainly had no qualms in showing it.

"Leo?" Isaac whispered when they parted, his voice laced with an emotion they both knew so well. Hearing it, it made his breath quicken. He thumbed at his pale cheeks, wanting them to pink with satisfaction. Isaac didn't have to say anything, but Leon wanted to hear it anyway. "Do you want to try?"

"Try what?" he pried, teasing him with second long kisses on his neck and throat. He hid a smile at his scent, ripe and demure.

Moaning, Isaac stroked his hair, his eyes cloudy. "You know what."

Of course he knew, but, "Tell me anyway."

But Isaac was done with words. He grabbed at Leon's hand, his own shaking and warm, and brought it down to his lap, allowing the younger blond to feel his excitement. And what an excitement it was.

"Oh, that," he chuckled, gently squeezing, "of course, anything you want, dear." He stood, bringing the other up with him. "Let's go make ourselves a little angel."

If there was one thing Leon was grateful for in an apartment, it was that the rooms were close together. It took the pair all but fifteen seconds to walk from the living room to their bedroom, but even then it wasn't fast enough for Isaac.

As soon as they passed the doorway, the green eyed blond rushed him over to their bed, a small thing barely able to fit them comfortably side by side. Most nights they spooned, unless they had had sex, in which case Isaac woke up in the morning to a heavy, yet welcomed weight on top of him. It seemed like it would be one of those nights.

"I like when you're eager," Leon purred as his clothes were taken off him like he didn't know how to do it. But he didn't complain. He never did.

"No use in going through formalities," was the reply, "not our first time, and all that."

Leon pursed his lips as his pants were slid down his thighs, his underwear along with them. "Our first time was eager, too, don't you remember?"

The task done, Isaac chuckled as he worked on his own clothes, his head down in concentration, "I'm surprised you remember our first time."

"Course I do." Stepping close, he wrapped his hands about Isaac's naked waist, halting his movements in undressing. He tried his best smoldering look. "You looked beautiful in the moonlight-"

Isaac shoved him off, his eyes bright with mirth. "That wasn't my first time." He leaned down to shimmy out of his jeans, his head about eye-level with Leon's pride and joy. He bit into his lip as he gazed down at him, but he refrained from grabbing his hair and making him suck him off. He had more restraint than his younger self, and besides, they had plans. "You must be thinking about someone else."

Leon pretended to think on it, his eyes focused up at the low ceiling. "Yeah, guess you're right… our first time was more like… this!" He lunged, taking Isaac by surprise. They landed on the bed in a mad heap, and as though they were young teenagers, Isaac dissolved into giddy laughter as Leon hoisted his hips up from behind and began to playfully hump him while making over-the-top noises as though they were lustfully fucking. "Uhn, uhn, baby!"

"You're such a dumbass!" Isaac shouted, his face smushed into their pillows, "Get off me!"

"But I thought this was what you wanted?" Giggling like a schoolgirl, Leon swatted his round behind. It made a pleasant thwacking sound when he did so. "You're confusing me!"

"Leeeooooonnnnnn!"

Having Isaac come undone beneath him, in a totally non-sexual way, it only made Leon laugh harder. He swore he was the only person on the planet who got to see this extremely playful side to him. Then again, he was the only person who could awaken this persona. To everyone else, he was cold and silent, and if they were friends, he would grace them with a small rare smile that sometimes reached his eyes. But with Leon? It was all balls to the walls fun.

"Okay," he chortled, letting his hips drop, "okay, okay."

His face red, Isaac rolled onto his back, his stomach noticeably heaving from all the laughing he had done. He was down to soft giggles then, looking much younger, and damn if Leon wasn't turned on by that. Carefully, he cupped his cheek, his thumb swiping over the corner of his moist lips.

"I wish our first time had been more like this."

"More like what?"

"Like this…" He leaned down, claiming Isaac's smooth, pink lips, then unlike in the living room he deepened it. He tasted like peaches and vanilla, probably from the bowl of ice cream he had earlier, though he wasn't cold, just perfectly warm. Their tongues twisted around each other in an uncomplicated dance, their noses pressed firmly against one another's cheek. Yes, this was exactly what Leon meant. Slow, patient, mutual. Thinking back on it, it soured his perception about himself, how cold and cruel he could be when drunk. But not anymore. He turned over a new leaf, and every time they passionately made love, it reminded him to never be led astray, to remain faithful to both his boyfriend and his promise to live a clean life. He wouldn't ever go back on those promises, not for the world. "Like that," he breathed upon pulling away.

Isaac's eyes were closed, his lashes magnified by his round glasses. In that moment, he was alluring, but Leon knows he can make him beautiful. "Oh, I see… me too, sometimes. But what can you do?"

He smiled, and swiping stray hairs from his lover's face, answered, "It's never too late to correct a mistake, Isaac."
