Since the dawn of time, women were the leaders, and the men were their protecters. Eventually, the men grew tired of this, so they started ancient ritual of mixed signals. The women, driven absolutely batshit crazy, stepped down from absolute power of the village in most cultures. The men took over, and then the women, bored, started to record things down.
