The Gaming Division: Her Destiny Awaits
Chapter 1
Introductions
A large battleship came into view, the jet-like structure moving easily in the starry surroundings of space. In front of them, ten enemy battleships were positioned as if in attention to a general, ready for the command to strike. Inside the lone battleship, Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 sat in her captain's chair, brow furrowed in concentration, planning her next mode of attack.
Below her, her crew sat in their own seats, awaiting their orders, the stress of the situation filling the atmosphere. This was the Captain's most trusted crew. It was because of them and their unique abilities with their avatar's that she could come so far. That they could come so far together.
"Prepare the guns!" She ordered to one of her crew.
"Yes, sir!" ilias45 shouted in reply. Instantly, a view of two large motors on each side of the battleship were slowly being drawn into position.
"Ready the magic necessary to launch the attack!" Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 immediately responded when the sound of the guns being put into position were no longer heard.
"Yes, sir!" ilias45 responded once again. His character, shrouded with the level of a 32 mage, quickly brought up the clear touch screen to find exactly the amount of magic he needed to defeat the army that stood in their way. "Magic at the ready at forty-five percent!" He stated.
"Shazaam188, prepare the shield defenses! Make sure there is no room for their attacks to puncture our battleship!"
"Yes sir, will do!" Shazaam188 twisted in his chair, a smile on his face. This was their captain alright. As good as any he'd ever seen.
Outside, the ten battleships were preparing their own lines of defense. Sparks cracked the air, and light briefly showed to announce their movements to those watching.
"Ninety-eight percent!"
"Get ready everyone," the Captain urged, "defeating this enemy will be worth it! Once inside, we will have almost everything necessary to defeat the boss. And once we do that, we will become legends of the system!"
Sure, this sounded almost ridiculous. Especially those who weren't very into the game itself. But to become a legend was something almost unheard. Very few ever reached the top and defeated the ultimate boss. It wasn't necessarily because they were at lower levels then the boss. It was more a cause of being stealthy. Having the ability to lead your crew with ultimate cunning.
The boss wasn't necessarily very powerful when it came to what level he was. But his defence, combined with his ability to read his opponent and understand what attacks they would use made him almost unbeatable. And so, to become a legend of the game, you'd gain recognition from the game makers themselves. Not only that, the money in the game that you'd receive for winning was also of great worth. The only way to get some items offered in the game without having to use actual money.
There were certainly other things to do in the game as well to develop your character. Many different attributes to acquire for the many directions and quests you could go on. It was a large gaming community where those who loved to game could gather together and play the game. Similar to games like World of Warcraft and Wizards101. The one large difference with this game, though, was how it was used.
The Gaming Division was a virtual adventure game. Complete with helmets and wireless hand devices. Through these and various other items, you could sit in your own bedroom and yet be in a completely different world. It was a place that many people across the globe used as a way to find adventure they could never have otherwise.
"Magic power-up is at one-hundred percent, sir!" ilias45 stated, loudly. With a smile to her lips, Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 waited for the most precise moment to attack. Watching the ten battleships power-up, the circle of magic filling the air and, combined with their own circles of magic turning in a circular motion, the various colors of fluorescent blue, brilliant purpled, bright yellow, and fluorescent green shone through the glass, nearly blinding everyone in the vicinity.
"FIRE!" Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 shouted, pointing her finger in the direction of the battleships. The noise of a gun ringing in their ears came loud and clear as bright bursts of magic shot forward. The sheer force of their magic, slamming into each of the battleships as the ray of magic grew from the power being laid out, was astounding.
It wasn't extremely crazy to see to the crew itself, though. Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3's crew all knew how powerful of a character she was. Not to mention how she helped each and every one of them achieve the levels they were at as well. Apart from her first mate, NoirNeko83, who had achieved his high levels of his own accord. He was first mate to the Captain because of how well he was able move out of harm's way. Not to mention his levels of magic were also quite impressive. And so, with the two masterminds of the operation with serious amounts of magic, combined with the other four mate's levels of magic and their battleships level 32 power of magic, left them nearly undefeatable. So far, that is.
They all watched as the ten battleships, were slowly being blown up to smithereens, they nearly missed one large mothership placed behind them. Each crew member watched with wide eyes as the mothership prepared her magic to blow their character's up.
Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 stood up quickly in her seat. This change of events giving her slight surprise.
"Quickly everyone! Power up your life magic and place your hands on the controls!" As each of them glowed from powering themselves up, the ship took a large hit.
"Defenses down to thirty-six percent, captain!" Shazaam188 quickly stated, doing his best to power himself up while making sure they, themselves, weren't also blown to smithereens.
"Watch those dials, and place your hands on the controls! Let out your magic when I say so!" The Captain yelled. None of them had a desire to lose. They'd gotten this far and if they were killed in this instant, they'd have to retrace their steps at an agonizing rate (though, what they deemed to be agonizing was actually rather quickly for the rest of the world.)
They all watched and struggled not to fall off their seats as small lasers continued to hit their ship. A large circle of magic covered the entire mothership and every crew member starred in dread as the realized that they may have to start over once again to get to this point.
But before the mothership could complete its power-up, Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 saw that her crew members were ready for action. So, with great effort, her hands glowed and she watched as the others did the same then she yelled,
"NOW!" Everyone's hands glowed a bright white color. The Captain put her all into this strategy, praying that it would work. They watched as their own life magic powered up their battleship and hit the mothership. In what seemed like a million minutes, the crew watched as the mothership began to spark red colors of magic, and when they expected the ship to blow up, it simple blew in on itself and then vanished. The whole process having caused their ship to rumble from the intensity.
After it was over, everyone stared at the empty space ahead of them. Empty apart from the winnings they'd receive for having defeated the mothership. And then, everyone cheered, punching a fist in the air, feeling the buzz of excitement from this crazy win.
"That was awesome, everyone!" Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 laughed. Her character, however, having used up most of her power, giving off an aura of red, which professed the state of weakness she was in.
"Let's get our winnings, and then head off for the night, shall we?" She asked.
"Sounds good, Captain!" Maazy1357 saluted, steering the ship forward. For their winnings, they received an ultimate shield for their ship, several different levels of enhancement for swords and armor for each character, as well as magic boots that boosted your magic level another six paces. Quite the jump, really, when the normal boots that you could "buy" with your gaming money would be, at the highest, three paces.
"Well done crew! See, this is why I have you on my team."
"So you only want us for our power, huh? I always knew you were just using us," Skyfall94 winked, a laugh just on the surface. And with a laugh of her own, Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 shook her head.
"Alright crew, let's sign off for the night. And we'll come around again, same time tomorrow!" With shouts of approval, Maazy1357 took Battleship Cami-G (as their battleship was formally named by the Captain) through the portal that lead to the safepoint. And with that, everyone signed off, giving their character's the rest well deserved and highly needed.
