So I should put in a disclaimer. I don't own Orcs. Nor do I own WoW or Wizards101. If there's anything else I missed... I don't own anything that's already been made up. I just own my own stuff. ^_^ enjoy chapter 2!

Chapter 2

A Little Rough Around The Edges

Holly pulled off the helmet and gloves that consisted as controls to the game.

"Ah, that was a good day." She ruffled her hair then noticed the time. "Hm, it looks like it is almost time for bed." Raising an eyebrow, she then turned to the right of her desk and slumped into the chair, "I completely forgot about my homework! Looks like it's another late night for me." She pulled out her notebook and a mechanical pencil before turning to the textbook to pour over her assignment.

A couple hours later and she was finished. Glancing at the clock, the blaring 3A.M time seemed almost unforgivable.

"Seriously, how is it that no matter how hard I try, I can never get my homework done within less than three hours?" Holly yawned, stretched, than crawled over onto the bed behind her. One day, she'd create such an awesome game as well.

Six hours later, Holly woke up to her alarm clock blaring its presence. One quick slam to the top stopped that nuisance.

"Only several more years of this and I will be done with alarm clocks." This was her mantra on days when she was especially tired. "Only several more years," she slumped her way to the bathroom, took care of her needs and was dressed with only a few minutes to spare before she had to leave.

As per the norm, Holly glanced around the condo, pausing on the photos of her mother and older sister. She had no mother. Never even had the opportunity to get to know her. That chance was taken as soon as Holly was born. Complications with her birth caused her mother to pass away only hours afterward.

However, the cause was completely different when concerning her older sister, Cami. Only three years older than Holly, Cami Giles was everything Holly Giles wasn't. Cami was majoring in Fashion Design while Holly wanted to major in Computer Science. Cami had the most luscious, curly, chestnut brown hair that Holly had ever seen, while she, herself, had straight, nearly black brown hair that seemed to never hold a curl.

With such differences, you'd never have imagined that the sisters were close. In most cases, sister rivalry was inevitable. Until you met the pair, that is the opinion you would immediately consider. Holly and Cami were closer than a bee and its honey. Nigh inseparable. Until nearly three years ago, you'd almost think the two were twins with how close they were.

Holly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then headed out the door, knowing her father was sleeping the day away after having been gone most of the night for work. Three years ago, something changed within her sister. And over the course of a few months, the dramatic differences in Cami's appearance were quite astounding. By the end of that year, Cami was gone from Holly's life forever. Murdered by a gang that neither Holly nor her father had known she'd become a part of until it was too late.

Before those events, Holly had always loved video games, but had considered more options than Computer Science as her major. So, she supposed it was the events of that year that caused her conviction for video games to spiral into something greater than it was. And the funny thing was, she thoroughly enjoyed her time online. She'd gained many friends because of it. Even if she'd never met them in person.

Stepping outside, the brisk, autumn air made her breath come out in puffs (only noticeable from a certain angle.) Pulling the light jacket tighter over her shoulders, Holly hopped into her car and made a swift drive to university, having just enough time to meet up with her extremely smart friend Rozlynn.

Rozlynn always had a computer on hand. She was also going into Computer Science, but her goal was completely different than Holly's. She had the look of someone who was very smart. Complete with a set of glasses. Holly couldn't help but laugh whenever Rozlynn pushed her glasses up from the tip of her nose because it always reminded Holly of an anime character. Or someone you'd read in a japanese comic.

Doing the classic push of the glasses while holding onto her computer, Rozlynn turned her body towards Holly, her short, brown hair barely moving an inch as she did so.

"Did you get your homework done, last night?"

"Eh heh, heh, barely."

"I thought so. You look a little bit bedraggled today."

"Thanks for your support," Holly grumbled. Rozlynn simply smirked.

"It's my pleasure," she stated, possibly a little too happily. The two friends walked to class, ready to get it over with. When they walked in the classroom, someone happened to be rushing out, bumping into Holly as he rushed by. The bump to her shoulder caused her to twist and fall over. The man instantly helped Holly get to her feet, apologizing for knocking her over, then continued on his way.

Holly stared for a few seconds, her shoulder tingling with electricity, before she let Rozlynn pull her up.

"C'mon, star struck girl. Class is about to start!" Holly rolled her eyes, glancing over where the man had passed by, before tuning in to what was being said.

A few hours later, they were done with classes for the day. And because Holly's father was always sleeping or gone by this time of day, she and Rozlynn had the habit of going to her house to hang out, do homework, or whatever they felt like doing. Considering Rozlynn lived with loud roommates, this seemed the perfect place to be.

"I need to check my account in The Gaming Division." Holly stated.

"You just have the urge to play, don't you?" Rozlynn said, half a laugh in her voice.

"I really can't help it. This game is so good. The people who developed the game were brilliant."

"Yup. I'm not surprised that you think that." Rozlynn pulled up her own laptop, already typing away to do whatever it was her brilliant mind could create. Holly enjoyed their friendship. Sometimes it was nice to be able to just be in the same room without having to entertain each other.

Putting on the headset, the first thing holly noticed was that she did not appear in the normal spot that the character's usually appeared in. Looking down at herself, her character appeared to look normal. Her long, silver hair still just as long. The purple outfit she had on seemed to be in order. Everything looked in top notch shape apart from where she appeared. Feeling behind her back, her sword was still in its sheath, ready when she was.

One look at her surroundings, Holly, or rather, Janaiya Gamefreak.3, could see that she was in an alleyway. It was darker than the normal areas of the game, yet above her, she could still see the deep blue sky, as radiant as ever. Feeling uneasy, Janaiya Gamefreak.3 held her hand in front of her, ready to use her magical abilities if needed, as she started walking out of the alleyway. Normally her friends were here to support her, but because she logged on early, there was no one to save her.

An attack from behind caught her mildly off guard. She lost her balance, losing the magic ball of power she'd held in her hand, snuffing out its existence.

She felt more then saw at first the avatar's surrounding her. Large in stature, Holly could tell that they were here to do business.

"What do you want?" She questioned boldy.

"We want you." One of them replied, their avatar dark and grotesque. Looking more like an Orc than a person.

"What do you mean you want me? I'm just a character in the game, nothing more."

"No. We have seen what your character can do. Give her to us!"

"Yeah, give her to us." Another avatar thug repeated.

"I can't just give my character to you. Do you think I'm stupid or something?"

"Girl, you don't want to mess with us. Give us your avatar, or else." Holly couldn't help but smirk, her avatar giving a show of arrogance as she did so.

"Or else, huh? That's a pretty weak threat, you know."

"Oh trust me, honey, you don't want to mess with us. That threat is real enough." The uneasy feeling crawled up Holly's spine once more. This was definitely creepy.

"You know, I think I've had enough excitement for one day, I think I'll just go and log off for the time being."

"You really think you can beat us, do you? Not willing to give up, are you?" The first thug that had spoken flipped his hands out, palms up, displaying his own source of magic. "Then I guess we'll just have to battle this out!"

"Right. I guess if I have to gain more health points, I can't argue against that." Captain Janaiya Gamefreak.3 positioned herself in a form ready to fight, casting her own magic spells. A third thug, armor of metal, looking extremely powerful, cast the first bout of magic. Holly twisted her hand filled with magic in a circular motion, causing a barrier between her and the attack. The barrier cracked once, letting her know she wasn't going to fare well all alone.

Getting hit once again, she held a ball of magic in front of her, then aimed it downwards. Flying into the air, she quickly cast another spell that rushed forward to hit the orc like character before she was hit herself.
"Ugh, I'm hit!" She growled at herself right before she hit a wall behind her. At least she didn't go flying into outer space. That would've been bothersome. She suddenly heard another noise in the background of her headset.

"Captain?" NoirNeko83 questioned. Hope filled Holly's heart. She might be able to get out of this!

"NoirNeko! Thank heavens you've arrived!"

"Where are you?"

"In an alleyway, somewhere. Some thugs attacked me."

"On my way!" and that was it. This conversation happened within a few seconds and she barely had time to recover before another thug tried to slam his foot into her avatar. She barely missed, not moving as fast with her arm damaged.

Sliding a kick underneath them, she knocked two of the four opponents down, virtual dust flying into the air around them. The other two weren't so happy with this change of events and both rushed at her with glowing balls of magic at the ready.

Before they could actually hit her, a large wave of magic was seen defeating all four character's from the entrance of the alleyway. None other than NoirNeko83 stood in a stance ready to defeat them all completely.

Understanding their defeat, their avatar's glowing red to show how low their power was, the orc like avatar (seemingly the leader of the group) paused for a moment and pointed at Holly's character.

"I will have your avatar. Whether we have to hunt you down or not. She will be ours!" Then he ran off. NoirNeko83 helped Holly's character up.

"What in the world was that all about?" He asked her. She could only shrug her shoulders.

"It seems I have made myself some enemy's."

"You probably shouldn't log on without one of us crew members around for a while. At least until everything dies down." NoirNeko83 said, concerned.

"Yeah, you're probably right. I guess we have an interesting story to tell to everyone, huh" She grinned at NoirNeko83 and he could only nod his head as the two of them walked out of the alleyway, on alert of any other dangers.
