"What is love?
What's the difference between love
And simple infatuation?
What's it like to be in love?
Is love even real?"
She was silent.
Her best friend smirked at her,
And gets up to walk away
But she starts to speak,
And he turns and listens...
"When two people care about each other
They don't have to pretend, they can be themselves.
There's always this yearning to be together
Whether it be holding hands, a smile, a laugh
Or just knowing the other is there.
I guess it's a feeling of completeness.
It's knowing that you've found your significant other.
It's knowing that at least one person understands you
And appreciates the way you are
And doesn't try to change you.
And maybe that's why you miss them when they're not there...
Because that feeling of security is gone...
You've grown so accustomed to their presence, you don't know what to do.
Because you feel their absence
And the worry and doubt just about kills you.
And when you're reunited, there's an overwhelming sense of relief,
And you feel like you're on top of the world."
She looks up at him, a small knowing smile on her face.
"And maybe, just maybe
This is what it's like to be in love."
Hey! So my friend and I did another challenge. He gave me "love". See, I have this thing... I don't believe in love. I mean yeah, love in stories and movies and stuff, but I don't think there's love in real life. So my friend (who does believe in love) took advantage of this and gave me this word. But I think I did a good job...
Please review and tell me what you think!
