Fusion's P.O.V

Urgh. I grunt as I'm thrown into a truck, gagged. The only reason I'm conscious is because they know I have no physical powers. I feel so useless right now. I can't see, but I'm guessing the rest of the team is probably in the same situation as me. When I try to move, I feel the cold hard trigger on my head. Crap. I need to find a way to get out of this. Maybe I could boost my powers to somebody else. I concentrate. Kinesis is unconscious, Atticus is knocked out, bleeding, and Ascent is groaning with pain. Inversion is down too. Wait. Magnitude is awake, but he's faking unconscious. He's got a dart in him, so he's drowsy. I could change that. I use all my willpower and I sense Magnitude's energy return. Suddenly a great earthquake rocks the trucks, presumably a convoy, and I use this as my chance. I flip myself off the truck and struggle until I can see. I work from there. When I'm free, I see Magnitude burst out of another truck.

Gunfire is heard from other trucks, but Magnitude raises a wall to protect us. I use even more energy and now he has Ascent's power of flying, and he shoots way up in the air. Good. And then I notice some slight trouble. Ten men come out of a truck and are sprinting towards me. Magnitude is occupied with flying vehicles. I look back at the soldiers. They're nearing me. I duck behind a rock, and it's nearly shattered by bullets. I need resources. I have nothing to use. Desperately, I..what in the world? My hand was clenched. When I open it again it's shaking. Magnitude falls from the sky but he recovers. Oh crap. I just fused myself.

I smile. They were about to be whipped. I fuse myself with Kinesis, and then fuse myself with Magnitude also, because thats in my power. I start to fuse myself with Atticus, and then Inversion. I switch a soldier with another, then slam him with electricity. After that, I use an earthquake and drop two more. Two figures run from the field, evading battle. Then, I slam another person with super strength, and finish the last off. Ha. Freaking awesome. A bullet slams into my shoulder and I fall. I regain my balance and fly up again. My moment of pure awesomeness quickly fades and I realize how futile this is. Only Magnitude and I are up, how the hell are we going to get the others. That's when I see Magnitude get shot. I land and run to help. They through a net on me and I fall. I should've switch the net with something but I couldn't. I see a needle in my arm. They have developed power nullifiers.

Mist's P.O.V

Did I feel bad about leading them into a trap? No. Did I owe them anything. No. Did I feel attached to any of them? No. Did I like any of them? No. The answer to all of these questions and more were no. The Gentleman had came to me a year ago on a frosty night. He offered me a deal I could not refuse. Many things depended on it. Things I will not say or they will resurface the memories I had buried long ago. I think about this as I ride along in the truck. I was sitting in front of Inversion. Riding in the passenger seat. I stare out the window and feel something stirring. I don't know what.

I look back and see Inversion roll over. I don't know why but, she feels vulnerable. Almost as if she has lost her powers. I shrug. Probably nothing. I look over to who's driving the truck. Omega sits there, not really observing the view.

Then the trucks rumble and vibrate. Earthquake. Magnitude. I lean out of the window and see magnitude burst out of truck. Damn Magnitude. He should be at least drowsy. Think. Think! Who can give people power? Think harder. Fusion. He's out there too. Omega and I pile out of the truck and watch. Fusion is fusing himself with everyone and he was all too powerful for us now. Well this was just great. Fusion laughs gleefully. Probably isn't used to having so much power at his fingertips. We could change that. A soldier lifts up a gun and fires three short bursts, one catching him in the shoulder. He falls a few feet but recovers. I turn and see Omega has her sniper rifle out.

"Omega, get Magnitude." I just never liked him.

"K," she replies.

She adjusts the scope and slides the gun over. Perspiration drips down her neck and she fires. I look over to Magnitude. He is on his back and is bleeding from a gaping hole on his chest.

"Missed the heart, he'll live."

Fusion runs to help put someone throws a net over him and one of the soldiers puts in the nullifier.
