A fair face like hers I have never seen
Beauty like hers does take one's breath away
My thoughts of her are found to be obscene
And with these obscene thoughts I rest and lay
An angels voice that soothes me from above
Believed that she was the one that I sought
I tripped and slipped and fell into her love
A love that I did plant and water and wrought
Yet light from her fair face has blinded me
And my poor broken heart is what remains
If love were man, I'd push it out to sea
And hope it burns and dies, all wrapped in chains
Because of her, I'll never love again
And if I do, she's on my mind till then.
