7Please don't hate me… I know… I haven't updated in an eternity. And I'm truly sorry for that. I really hope you can forgive me, maybe a new chapter will help?
And I am still trying to keep these chapters short.
Since it has been sooo long I will include a little "previously on" so,
Previously on Drinks & Due Dates: Dustin Moore is a quintessential bad boy with a big crush on a good girl, they headed to a party with wrestling teammate and best friend, Alex, as well as his girlfriend, Sam, who just happens to be best friends with good girl, Katlyn Shade, or Katie for short. Dustin and Katie get a little tipsy and also a little personal since they are both single. Opposites attract, but do they work? I guess we will have to read and find out.
I take Kat's small, soft hand in my own large calloused ones, I lead her across the grass, I can tell she's borderline drunk, she is tripping over her own feet, and laughing at everything. Plus she keeps throwing me these cheesy pickup lines that she thinks are hilarious. Which of course makes me laugh even more because she is just so fucking adorable.
We each only had two shots of whiskey, I`m a bit buzzed, but I`m also six foot two, and 210 pounds. Plus I had two hamburgers before the meet and I drink all the time. Kat on the other hand is five foot five and 140 pounds, she is thin, but she works out, we both do, we both have a lot of muscles but I would doubt she has ever done a shot before, let's find out.
"Hey Kat, have you ever drank before?"
"NO! Drinking is wrong," she says loudly, then she erupts into laughter and nearly falls. I wrap my arm around her shoulder to support her better. She giggles some more.
Then she presses her nose to my face and whispers "do you have a name? Or can I just call you mine?" Then she starts laughing again, so I start laughing. But I realize her nose is really cold, and shes only wearing a t-shirt and shorts. So I put my hoodie around her shoulders. The sleeves are too long and it comes down to her thighs but she pulls it closer around her and puts the hood up, shouting "thug life" a few times before asking in an adorably curious voice "Why does this smell funny?"
Now it`s my turn to laugh. I know exactly what that smell is, weed. Yet she has no idea, even now, in her most honest state, she is a sheep, hidden away from the wolves of the world, she doesn't drink, she doesn't smoke, she has no idea. Yet she was dating one of the biggest wolves of them all, he treated her bad yet she thought that was just the way it was, I didn't treat Amanda that well when I dated her, she broke up with me and told me I needed to grow up, I might be immature, but I'm far from a wolf, just a bad influence.
"You know, I'm no organ donor, but I'll be happy to give you my heart," she says, swimming in my sweatshirt. I just smile a dorky smile as I look into her eyes.
I lead Katie back into Dan's house. Dan is a sophomore on the team and his parents are never around so he always throws the wrestling get-togethers. Katie follows me into the basement, I get her some food and a glass of water, when I come back I find her drinking a beer and laughing with all my friends. She is telling some story and they are just laughing their asses off. Big, built wrestling guys, laughing hysterically at a thin girl telling some drunken story. I smile as I sit down next to her on the couch. Dan puts on some old wrestling movie we have seen a million times.
I put my arm around Katie, and she lays her head on my chest. When the commercials end, I ask her if I can get her anything before the movie starts and she is already fast asleep, her head buried in my chest, my hand in her hair. I don't need to watch the movie, just watching her sleep could keep me happy and entertained for hours. (*Creepy alert* oh well I guess sometimes love is creepy)
