Prologue
Ordinary souls echo in only one single universe at a time. They hum quietly along the temporal plane, from one birth to death to a different birth and a different death, ad infinitum, never even grazing the chasm that separates each universe from its sister.
Some souls, however, send shocks that echo through the parallels, reverberating with such amplitudes that they transcend multiple chasms and stretch across multiple universes. These souls cycle through multiple lives simultaneously, each a fragment of a larger whole, without awareness of their own multiplicity. Most of these fragmented souls never gain cognizance and lead their multiple lives in blissful ignorance, deaf to the thrumming of the multiverse and their own inherent energies.
A fraction of them, however, develop some sense of self-awareness, a nagging sense of contemporaneous separate existence.
And among that number, an infinitesimal population attain self-actualization.
