Outside my window
I trip,
grabbing for grass
but missing-
the blades just outside my reach.

And then
I fall
the sky.

Gravity no longer holding me back-
sailing past housestreesskyscrapersgeeseclouds
(Too fast, I'm going too fast)

Screaming all the way

Hands reaching for something,
anything to keep me tied to earth,
air whistling through my fingers
as I howl for a savior.

Finally, I enter the deep black abyss of space.
With twinkling lights,
a massive ball of fire and
a bowl of lumpy milk.

And I forget to be afraid,
opening my mouth to gasp in wonder-
but there's no air.
I can't make a sound.
